It's the haar we get here in the north east (seafog) and it is making everyone fed up. Even just a few miles inland can be lovely and sunny whereas everything here is just grey mist.

We have been having a few problems with our DS - don't want to say too much here, but he has been suffering anxiety which has really flared up over past month or so and finally we have him on some medication so the poor lad is walking around like a zombie and sleeping round the clock. Hope his body gets used to it soon and we get our usual sunny boy back.

So no wonder we are fed up - i think i will take your advice LauraJo, and take a break. Wages came in today and there is £777 left over after the budget is paid, instead of paying it into mortgage i have tucked it away in savings account. I aim to get this to around £4k as a buffer so that if we see a good deal on anything then we have the cash ready. (Thinking campervan). We will see how that goes! I did tillytidy my accounts and found £22.64 which i overpaid however.

We had the haar first thing this morning ~ I'm on the coast in NE England so it's certainly getting around.

Hope your DS feels more like his old self soon. We have had similar in the family & the person affected was offered CBT which really helped them.

Best wishes to you & your family.

thank you both for your kind thoughts. We have no experiance of this so was not sure how to start getting some help. CBT was mentioned by the doctor, but DS has language disorder so has major problems expressing himself and comprehending other people's sentances - which is one reason he is often anxious usually - but this has been much more severe. He has slept a lot this week, since starting the medication, but today finally seems to be a slight improvement.

Haar still not lifted - it's like something out of a Stephen King book now!

our regular direct debit went in today - and topped up a little to tidy up accounts so total is now 88,700. We have just over 800 in our savings and i have opened TSB account to get some interest on that. Also chucked 50 quid into my isa - the interest is rubbish on that, but have a feeling in future years it might be handy to have some locked away tax free.

we have a busy month socialising - have a couple of trips coming up too, and more bits for the garden needed. so it's another month of pulling our belts in. Still have expenses to claim - will do that this week.

just finished a mountain of baking for my mum's church sale tomorrow - most of it came from my cupboard so only needed to buy butter - quite impressed with my store cupboard!

have had a lovely day with some freinds and their young children - when for a pub lunch, then some fancy ice cream cones and a sit in the sun this afternoon. They have gone home now and we spent a couple of hours in the garden planting some seeds - we have leeks and spring onions started now. Were at the farmer market earlier today and got crab, hot smoked salmon and scallops for tea. :T

we had a couple of days in Edinburgh and spent like it was the old days! meals out, a night in a hotel and some shopping. most expensive was a pair of ballroom shoes for OH and when i saw how lovely they were...well i got a pair too. They come from the same factory that make Jimmy Choos - need I say more? i don't think there will be much of an overpayment this month

But it was a great weekend - very relaxing and even if it delays our mortgage free date by a month or so, well worth it. Got some of my favourite chocolate half price, the room was a late deal, and got a free book from waterstones with my loyality card. Also got swimsuit half price and a replacement bath mat reduced from £12 to £4.

Just back from the dentist - no treatment needed :j was £50 for both check ups, but got a free sample of toothpaste - i am easily pleased.:rotfl:

it did help, although i was scared to log onto the bank yesterday - spending no longer comes easy to me!

DS was so sleepy on his medication that we cut the dose in half and it seems to have helped, although he now has a rash, so will have to try and get him another appointment with the doctor again. At least he has a bit more energy, but the anxiety is back too - swings and roundabouts with him.
