i can see why he became an ex :rotfl:
Lovely day yesterday in the garden - got lots of earth dug up and potatoes, lettace, broad beans and radish planted out. All from out of date seeds  Also dug out a small patch and replanted some herbs. I have big plans to dig out more, but will see how i get on with this lot this year. Best of all, didn't spend any money - except for the food shop.
Tonight we are off to the fish restuarant for goodbye meal for DD. Really looking forward to that - but first, more pottering in the garden.. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

DD left today for her other job - if anyone is visiting mallorca this summer and sees an airport rep give her a cuddle from her mam. missing her already, saying goodbye never gets easier.
Long walk tonight and met several folk we know out enjoying the sunny evening. We have rhubarb growing in our embankment which we don't like so are giving it away to anybody who wants it - there is a glut of it. I do have a receipe for jelly that we could try.
Our bosses told us today that they want to show their appreciation of how hard we have worked this year so are going to award us more holidays. I would rather have a cash bonus, thanks:rotfl: We already get a generous holiday allowance and it's stressful having to cover each other. Still i guess it's step in the right direction...although they haven't mentioned how many days we are getting yet.. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

just back from our easter holiday break in northumberland touring around in a vintage VW campervan. Which is lovely to look at, but very uncomfortable to drive. We knew we'd fall in love with it, and were talking about falling off the moneysaving wagon to buy one, but think our money is safe for a while yet - Mr P could hardly move after driving one for a day. And it was the most uncomfortable bed ever. Had a lovely trip though - visited Alnwick castle and Beamish museum and rhubarb vodka went down very nicely.
We came in under budget thanks to having fun cooking in the van, so just waiting till payday to overpay a little bit of money leftover. Also have come home to some very grown seedlings, so think i might need to buy some pots to transfer then into.. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

Hi kirsty, have read your diary over the last couple of days & have subscribed
I couldn't get over how quickly you went from thinking of selling your old house... to it being up for sale... to moving... Things do seem to move a lot quicker in the Scottish property market.
Well done on all the decorating, garden work & OPing, it sounds like you have made great progress in quite a short space of time.
Btw, MSE wouldn't let me 'thank' your earlier posts for some weird reason. I was up to post number 146 before it gave me the option.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
thank you Pink Poppy - it's nice to know there is someone reading out there. You are right, scottish sales usually move quite quick - it seems much easier up here because there is no chain. And people are penalised heavily for any delays so everyone makes sure there is never a delay.
Mr P has decided to build me some planters for the garden so we went to B&q for cheap decking that he is going to use. Nipped into sainsbury for a bit of shopping and was able to use my nectar points to pay for half of that (just under £12) and we went dancing last night which we missed past 3 weeks. Our dance class is being extended to an hour and a half, but they are only putting the price up by £2, which is a bargain. I am loving the dance class - it's the best part of my week!
Not back to work till next monday, although the weather forecast is rain all weekend - i have some work i could be getting on with indoors, but prefer being outside in the garden at the moment.. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

The thing I don't like about the Scottish system is when a house goes to a closing date/sealed bids?? We tried to get a house in South Ayrshire a few years ago but it went for about £30k more than our offer
I love the idea of doing a dance class with DH, I think he would go for it too, even though he has two left feet'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Morning Kirsty, glad to hear the dancing is going well. Cycling and dancing always make me smile
