had a lovely day yesterday, got up early to go for a swim, local pool has weird opening times and most of the weekend is closed except for families with kids. It is a real pain. Anyway, off we went, and it was closed as their heating is broken. So, still unwashed, we trecked off to tesc@ as had a voucher for £9 off a £60 shop. It is quite unusual for us to spend 60 quid these days and usually take the chance to get some wine. But cannot buy wine in Scotland early on sunday morning, so had to stock up on toilet roll instead:rotfl:
Well fed up by now, went home and started batch cooking. made ragu with quorn mince, fish pie, and oat flapjacks. Then decided to give the garden a tidy as the sun had come out. 3 hours later OH still out powerwashing everything in sight...so got some peace to read the sunday paper. And eat flapjacks. and then some more.
Finally went to the pub with kids for a drink, then home for some lovely fish pie and a dvd.
This morning sun still shining, garden looks clean and almost ready for planting and I got a voucher for some free toilet rolls in the post. Just checked account online and there is another 5.63 there from topc@shback. Life is good!. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

not much happening, just counting down the days to payday. Did manage to hang out washing outside in the sun and it smells great, although not completely dry.
roast beef from freezer for tea, twas very good and had tatties from the huge bag i got from the farmers market. there is enough for tomorrow night too.
Needing a night out, though, we seem to spend a lot of time on this sofa at the moment.. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

have not been very good at saving money this week...ooops! went to pub quiz on wednesday and bottles of wine bought, then met freind for coffee on thursday and ended up buying breakfast instead. Yesterday was working overtime and treated myself to fab sarnie and soup from the fancy baker next door to work. Finished a long hard week and decided to take my parents out for a meal at the local pub.
Still, it was worth it to have a few laughs. And I did squeeze in two bits of overtime, plus make a couple of quid on snap and save. so had an account tidy up this morning and found £100, half went into vegas fund and half to the mortgage.
No great plans today - have a house to tidyup, pick up dress from alteration shop, maybe cheap trip to pictures? I still have £25 voucher from john lewis to spend, but not in the mood to shop. Omg, what's happened to me....not in the mood to shop:rotfl:. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

ended up having a great long walk in the sunshine yesterday along the cliffpath with OH and a pal who was doing some photography. She is entering a comp to snap a photo of spring, but doesn't want the usual lambs, snowdrops, daffodils. We walked to an old churchyard where some of my ancestors are buried - earliest one I found in 1757! Got some unusual pictures there and she snapped a couple of us that I liked, usually I hate getting my photo taken.
It was actually a 30 quid voucher i had, OH needed a new battery for his phone today, so I nipped into the shops and got a reduced tunic and a pair of fancy tights for our renewal of vows thing in a couple of weeks. Also ended up buying OH a new jacket in the sale, he is such a scruff...whilst in Debenh@ms fell in love with some tiaras and fancy combs for an updo. Did not buy one as not sure if they would look too young on me, but ended up getting one in another shop for the grand total of £8. Told you, I was turning into bridezilla!! I don't know if I will wear it, but can always pass it onto my neice to play with if not.. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

and continuing the bridezilla theme, I was quoted $100 for 2 small bouquets for me and daughter using fresh flowers. Is it just me, or that quite expensive? wondering how easy it would be to go to hobbycraft and make up a couple of bunches with artificial flowers?

well, I went to hobbycraft this morning and got enough silk flowers to make up 2 bouquets. Very easy to make and they look pretty, also managed to get an exact match for our dresses. I posted some photos on facebook and have had a few comments how professional they look. The best part? Oh yes, with student discount, whole lot came to £20 in total:T

grand canyon - now that is expensive! we have thought about it, but the helicopter tour costs a fortune especially for 4. Did sign up to groupan in vegas and there is a comedy bus tour on there half price, i think we will wait till we are there and see what time we have. Only going for a week, so might not want to spend a day on a coach. On the other hand, we may only be in that part of the world once, seems a shame to miss it.
still no wages today, OH got some holiday pay from his wee part time job, he is only employed on a bank basis, so was not expecting holiday pay. only £37, have spent it on flowers and another net petticoat - a girl cant have enough net underneath those skirts:rotfl:. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

wages got paid today, and all that overtime certainly paid off. I had planned to cut back a bit, mainly becase i book shifts in advance with my 2nd job then get busy in my main job, meaning I have to cover extra hours there and cannot cancel the booked shifts. also i wasnt enjoying the extra shifts, but feel more motivated to carry on now.
So had a play about with the extra cash, 6 months ago this was the amount i used to get regularly paid and a lot of it got spent on rubbish. Now I feel more confident we can manage on less. I have saved some in my isa, some in vegas account, and another £200 overpay. almost below 54k now.
another good night at pub quiz, we now have £50 in food vouchers to use, so will get a meal organised before we go.. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k
