I ordered a Sofa from CSL on 01/11/2012 to be delivered before Christmas, this was confirmed and promised by the sales rep before i confirmed the order or signed any documents.
I have since been told that it was an honest mistake on their part but i should never have been promised delivery before Christmas as this isnt possible but it will be with me before the end of Jan!

"An honest mistake" from a salesman0

You have to look at these companies as dropshippers, they order them from places such as China by the container load via ship, hence the reason for such a long wait for delivery.0

I've never understood the importance of a new sofa just before Christmas but everyone seems to advertise it!
I'd advise you to get your money back and buy another one but they probably won't refund you without a fight lasting longer than the end of January.
If I were you I'd wait but ask for a small good will gesture for your patience. Don't hold your breath though!Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. As its an "honest mistake" on their part tell them you want your money back.
Turn up about 10 minutes before closing time.0 -
Why doesn't it surprise me about CSL I made a huge thread about them around 2 years ago and since then I've seen nothing but complaints about them.
A poster above is right in that they are from China and they get here when they get here really. TBH if I was you I would cancel it straight away and get a refund because you will have nothing but problems with it when it does come. If you don't cancel it don't say I didn't warn you.
The CSL depot is only a 5 minute drive from my house and I had a tour round it when we had problems with 5 different sofas from there. They are not sofa specialists by any stretch if you want a good quality leather sofa try a pen dragon I know they aren't made anymore but you can find them on ebay for a reasonable price and a very very good quality not this cheap chinese rubbish.
Good luck

No please don't - first of all that's not fair to the staff who probably have buses/trains to catch and its cold out these days and mean to make them wait for the next one.
Second of all they're likely to try and get rid of you so they can go home so you'll receive substandard service.
I don't understand the "advice" given on this forum sometimes!

I had my suite delivered from CSL on Saturday. We ordered it back in October.
So far, no problems, everything was smooth from start to finish. They were REALLY pushy regarding the add on's, which was tedious.
We went with a fabric reclining sofa and armchair. We wanted a leather suite, but had heard loads of bad things about the finish degrading on the headrests etc.
To be honest, we love the suite. Obviously i'm aware that something could go wrong at a later date, it might breakdown or we could have problems with the seat pads becoming flat, but i'll have to deal with that should it happen.
I looked ALL over for a suite, including the places people on here always recommend like John Lewis and M&S, but just couldn't find anything i liked.
Fingers crossed eh!?:rotfl:0 -

The only member of staff required to authorise the refund is the manager and it takes seconds, everyone else can go home.
The manager is paid the higher wage as recompense for the extra duties, which include sorting out "honest mistakes" and occasionally staying late to sort them out.0 -
Often all staff have to stay behind and leave together for security reasons. I don't know CSL's specific policy. Either way my other point still stands. And why make someone do something out of work hours just for the sake of it anyway? Just mean.Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards.
