I have been eating them and feeding them to my teenager for a year now on nights when i am too tired to do a real dinner, or dont want the pots etc to wash up and they have been a godsend,
however now that i have stopped smoking i have got my sense of tast back and oh my god they are truly nasty!! the bases are ryvita l ike in texture, they are plastered t hick with cheap tomato puree and a mean sprinkling of cheese- disgusting, i had to apologise to my son for making him eat them in the spirit of MSE ha ha!
never again - this week i bought 2 p izza's for 2.98 (bogof) and much better!!
Not really related to the main topic but get down to lidl, dunno about down south but in Scotland they have up to 50% off all frozen stuff! They've got double packs of 10" (at a guess) pizzas down to 99p/£1.49 depending on the topping and they taste AMAZING. I was truly taken back by how nice they are, IMO better than the "chicago town" brand you get in tescos etc.
Also when you're cooking them, esp in the convection oven you get a true "pizza shop" aroma wafting through the house

Got Asdas own sanitary towels thinking they wouldn't be much different than the name brands...how wrong i was. Not to go into detail but I felt manky. They really miss that top layer that draws moisture away from you.0

Well, not sure if its myth or not, but one guy worked in a cheese factory and basically said all the sweepings up off the floor went into dairylee, and the other guy worked in a factory that made dairy products and said the left over whey went into dairlee after the mould had been skimmed off! :eek:0 -
Asda Smart Price rice crispies - I think these are just the sweeping up from the factory floor!!!0

This IS an urban myth, I've heard it about tea-bags (from someone who hated tea-bags & onlt drank loose tea).mum2kathryn wrote: »and the other guy worked in a factory that made dairy products and said the left over whey went into dairlee after the mould had been skimmed off!
Cheese IS mould, all cheese is/was mould.0 -

How I wish it was - ever been to a processed cheese factory? I have - several times.
edited to add it was not a dairylea factory so I cannot comment on what is in their products.0 -
The faux pizza cheese is known as Analogue cheese. Its imitation cheese based on vegetable oil, proteins and flavouring. Foul doesn't even begin to descibe it. Think cream coloured wax! But it is very cheap and therefore is in a lot of value brand pizza's.0

ASDA smart price Passatta (seived italian tomatoes) used to be OK but it's now like coloured water0

has anyone ever been brave enough to try smartprice larger???0

I think everyone should try it all, and not buy it again if they really don't like it.
I love the .13p value washing up liquid - I think it's a great bargain, and it gets my dishes squeaky clean. I do use more of it, but even if I used twice as much, it would still cost a lot less than Fairy. My water area is quite hard, maybe it makes a difference? I also use it to wash floors and windows, the tub, just a small squirt in a bucket of hot water and a microfiber cloth gets a load of jobs done really well. Good for laundry stains. Even cheaper than Stardrops, but I love the Stardrops smell...
I am fine with value tea bags - I didn't like them much at first as I was drinking Yorkshire tea and any tea tastes weak after that, but after a couple of cups we adjusted and now both dh and I enjoy the value tea - it's important not to let it stew or it can be a bit bitter. I think there is a period of adjustment whenever you switch what brand of tea you drink. Guests have never complained about it, but then they probably wouldn't anyway...
I also like the value tuna (chunks not flakes), paper towels, and weetabix. Very few value things I have been really disappointed with, most have been a pleasant surprise.
I guess everyone has a different frame of reference - if it was a choice of no tea at all or Tesco Value tea, the value might start to taste a lot better.:happylove0
