Some Value things we've tried and haven't liked are.......
mayonnaise
salad cream
teabags
bleach
curry sauce (but @ 4p a tin it would do if you were stuck)
sausages
tinned fruit cocktail (lots of very hard pieces)
chocolate (lidls chocolate is as cheap, but really nice)
baked beans
tinned spaghetti
toilet roll
I'm sure theres a few more, but I can't remember right now. I actually think a lot of the value range is quite good.0 -

Springforce??? What a violent name for a toilet roll!!!
Mr T's Discount brand half&half bread at 99p is nasty - small slices and not even nice when toasted. And I'm afraid I don't like their crumpets much either - they have an odd "sweet" taste - so will only get Warburtons or Kingsmill. Having said that, I've just joined the Weight Loss thread, so I guess I won't be getting many crumpets oozing with butter for a while:DObedient women are never remembered in History!
