  • Has someone used sendingparcel.com?
  • No. There's a sticky at the top of the board with recommended companies. They'll probably be cheaper, and more reliable.

Hi, don't know if you can help as I'm new to all this (well, I've posted small packet type parcels at my post office before) but this is my first "big" parcel order as I'm selling some stuff on Amazon.

Read through a lot of this thread and think I should best avoid Yodel (£4.07), the next cheapest is My Hermes (£4.20) - no idea how long the service is for though.

I am tempted by Parcelpete.com at £5.49 plus VAT for a next day delivery service. I don't want it to take ages to arrive for the person but at the end of the day I am making less money if I go for the next day service. Any thoughts on the above companies?

Oh - and one last question. If I go for the hermes one I'm probably going to be out most of the day so would rather drop it off, they all seem to be little independent newsagents? Is this right, seems an odd place?

I regularly send parcels to Spain, approx. weight 26 kilos, I have to say that Parcel2Go offers a fantastic service door to door. Their prices are great far cheaper than any other company I know, and their tracking service is great too.

If you use parcelpete ( ipostparcels) you will get a 10% discount with code EBAY250.

Myhermes drop offs are as you say small shops and garages with long opening hours - some 24 by 7. .

Another option that I have not tried is the BYBOX service operated by Parcelmonkey and Myhermes where you print out a label with a barcode and leave it in a locker to be collected later. Lockers have scanner attached for you to scan the parcel to open a locker.

I think you'll find that the Hermes courier isn't allowed into the facility to deliver the parcel.

Didn't know what to make of this post in answer to mine but it could be the case - having watched the tracking do nothing for an entire week it appears MyHermes will attempt another delivery to Amazon tomorrow. Parcel2Go tell me that they are only allowed to deliver on a Thursday (despite Amazon saying they accept returns everyday).

It seems incredible but this is their excuse for a 10 day delivery time (promised 2 days!!)

What are you saying here, My Hermes isn't allowed to deliver the parcel to the person's address? What?

Gone off the idea of parcelpete.com as although my item is under the 5kg limit it says when I hover over it that no length must exceed 35cm, mine does - around 52cm.

Edit to add -just had a look at parcel2go.com and thinking about the my Hermes 3 days plus service. Roughly how long do you think it will take, what are people's opinions on my Hermes? Thanks for all your help so far.

I think that this may be an issue specific to Amazon. I have no idea why it should be an issue but it's been in Scotland for a week waiting for delivery.
My previous 2 orders worked OK but these were to private addresses.

myHermes unfortunately is delivered by people in their own cars, so they most likely aren't allowed into Amazon's facility as they aren't a recognised courier.

Oliverr. The 3-5 working day service generally takes 3-5 working days. Hermes working days are Monday to Saturday. Don't book through P2G though, it's far eaier to book directly with Hermes at https://www.myhermes.co.uk . It means when there's a problem you don't have to contact them through P2G each time.

ParcelPete is quite a good service, and take a look at https://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk , they have some very attractively priced City Link and DX services.
