I have signed up to dispatchbay, which are quoting me £2.60 for a parcel up to 1.5kgs.

    thanks:T

I looked into them but if you only have a couple of items one day you still need to pay the collection fee which then shoots the average price of a parcel up
    .
One off charge per Packet Collection Label (per box of packets) - £3.45 excluding VAT

Each parcel is £3.12 incl VAT
So if you only had 1 parcel to send it would be rather expensive at £7.26
  • lemony, myhermes basic option is insured to £25

if you want a signature on delivery and/or more than £25 insurance you need to select these options & it will cost extra

if you go on myhermes site it will do a quote & calculate the price if you input size, weight, item value etc etc

But have you seen the exemption list of items not insured by myhermes - I am not sure that there is anything they do insure - that beeing said I got my money back for a broken toilet seat seeing the list now though I don't know how I managed it!

Not a good start with Hermes. On Monday I booked a collection for Tuesday (ebay business a/c sale), I checked the tracking last night and it looks like they bumped my collection "Pick-Up Carried Forward". Is 3-5 working days from day of collection or when collection was meant to be?

I had a myherpes collection booked for yesterday, so I did a few more, but when they collected they could only collect what had been booked for yesterday, they're coming back for the rest today - despite them being paid and ready.

    Not very good.

Do the drivers get paid per parcel they collect or per address they collect from?
  • Is collect+ any good ? They have just introduced better prices
    £3.99 up to 2kg 50 x 30 x30cm so a good size
  • Have used Hermes for eBay parcels to my customers over past 2 years or so but their performance has been unreliable and very patchy. On occasions they just don't turn up at all to collect pre-booked and paid-for parcels and it is impossible to get a sensible explanation or reason from them for this poor service. They introduced a local Parcel Collection Point for us to drop off parcels to but then terminated the arrangement with the Collection Point a year later - but didn't inform their local Hermes customers ! At least with the Collection Point we didn't have to rely on unreliable uplifts and could be assured that our parcels were at least on their way. Now we're back to Square 1 wondering whether or not anyone's going to turn up to collect our parcels. I would suggest it's going to be better to pay a bit more to a more reliable and efficient company for a better service. Oh, by the way, don't expect any sort of apology or recompense for botched deliveries either !

Its always been that price - but you used to have to use a jiffy bag. I just taped jiffy bags round my boxes - so made no difference :D

Ive used about 100 times = 100 sucessfull deliveries (a few went on a site seeing tour and took a couple of weeks).

At the moment - many are arriving next day - and most within 2 days.

Thats the same for most couriers ive used. Did they not tell you the collection dates when you booked?

I did have one agree to take them all, even though he should'nt - but the guy who came the next day wasnt happy they had gone.
