    Hi guys,

I got stung recently by Royal Mail no longer counting vinyl LPs as a small packet, and I initially tried Collect+ as an alternative, but a 12" record mailer weighs in at 34cm square.

I've had a look around, but there's a bewildering array of couriers - has anyone on here found a good / cheap courier for mailing vinyl LPs?

    Thanks!

That size is fine for My Hermes courier service.
It will cost you £2.50 if taken to one of their drop off points, or £2.75 for them to collect from you:

    Hope it helps Donal :-)

Just on this - so you have a similarly brilliant international courier recommendation?

    My pleasure :)

Well....Regarding the international prices, that's not so easy to answer, as all courier resellers offer different rates for each country, so 'Interparcel' may be cheap for sending to Spain, but may be dearer than 'Click and Send Parcel' to the USA.
I tend to use those two along with 'P4D' and check all three for quotes before choosing one of them (which doesn't take long to do)

Oh and if you use 'P4D' you can get 5.05% cashback through the Topcashback site if you book through there :)

(There are courier reseller comparison sites out there, but I find them to be dearer than using the reseller sites directly, which to my mind means you have to pay a percentage to the comparison site)

Oh, just one other thing :)
You will find there are negative reviews against My Hermes and Collect+, but I have used both companies 3-6 times a week since last November and not had a single problem.
I've found them faster than Royal Mail at 2-3 days delivery after leaving the parcels at the drop off point, much cheaper, and you get online tracking too.

Remember for every negative review out there, there are hundreds of positive ones that no one bothers to write ;)

It's also worth remembering that RM's have lowered their compensation on standard services to a paltry £20.00 too, so using these cheaper courier services are a no brainer :D

After alot of looking round, applying for a RM OBA an being messe around, I cant wait any longer, I really do need to get back listing more items,

I have signed up to dispatchbay, which are quoting me £2.60 for a parcel up to 1.5kgs.

but I am a bit confused with the sending of them, as it oes say there is a charge for less than 4 parcels being sent at one time, and you need to bag/box your parcels together.

If someone uses Dispatch bay, can you go through it with baby steps for me please:D and how long does the deliveries take???

    would really appreciate any help

    thanks:T

    Small print says:

"Average Price: 2.69* per packet based on 15 packets per box"

I'd stick to Hermes for the ones that don't fit through the slot.

A good starting point for international delivery might be parcelquote.net. It searches most of the UK discount couriers (P4D, Transglobal, Interparcel, Parcel2Go, etc) and doesn't add any fees. Alternatively you could manually check each of the sites one by one and compare who is the cheapest. Hope this helps..
