I have claimed from My Hermes before for an item they managed to break, even though it was solid wood. They just asked for the eBay number and gave me the price it sold for including standard postage and the price I paid for courier.0

I read https://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk/prohibited-items However that list is different from http://www.postoffice.co.uk/mail/international-what-can-i-send . The latter lists liquids over 1 litre and doesn't mention food at all as far as I can see.
That is like reading the rules for a football player versus the rules for a rugby player. They are different rules. If you go back to my post the very first word was IF.
Your post was askingThe rules I have read just say "liquids" and "food" in the prohibited list which isn't very clear to me.
Therefore IF the rules YOU have read say it's prohibited, then it's prohibited. Not difficult really is it?0 -

Most of the parcel brokers like Parcel Monkey are the same. They do not actually carry the parcel, they just buy loads of courier services and so can offer you cheaper than direct. You just need to make sure the item you are sending is covered in case anything goes wrong. Check the small print. Whatever price they offer, you will struggle to get any better going direct to the courier. I personally use Parcel2Go but have used Parcel Monkey in the past with no problems. As I said though, they are only as good as the actual courier who is going to carry your parcel.0 -
If it's 2kg (not over) then Royal Mail are most likely to be the cheapest, depending on the size. Have you looked at their price?0

Hi there royal mail were charging me seventy Pounds ,and parcel force were charging me ninety, have not tried anywhere else yet,had heard about parcel to go and parcel monkey ,so might give one of these a try thank you0

New here (been a lurker) and i'm looking to send a few parcels. I have read over the original post but i'm still confused. A dvd is 190cm and can be sent large letter but when I type parcel dimensions into any of the sites it says no one side can exceed 150cm. Am I doing something wrong?
One of my parcels is less than 2kg and its dimensons are - 205cm x 200cm x 100cm. Can anyone tell me how to send this, I feel i am missing something silly. Royal mail/parcelforce would be around £12 and thought there would be a cheaper option.
Any help is appreciated.0 -
You are mixing up cm and mm. A DVD would be more like 19cm or 190mm0

AVOID MyHERMES!
They are cheap, but you get what you pay for. I've waited a week for a pick-up and customer service has been non existent. 8 calls and various online 'chats' and no answer as to why my parcel hasn't been picked up. Over an hour wasted and LOADS of frustration with what is basically lying each day. Use them if the parcel isn't important and you're not in a hurry but not for any other reason.
Unfortunately that's their usual way of operating :smileyheaMagenta0
