For up to 2kg, RM will be the most cost effective solution. If you want a carrier then look at someone reputable (agent) such as transglobalexpress, not the cheapest, but you don't want cheap for 2K, you want reliable - particularly when/if things go wrong.0

Thank you. Would you recommend Transglobal? I haven't used them before. After parcelmonkey helped themselves to more money because of an over weight parcel (it wasn't) I'm very wary.0

I'm getting parcelforce only as an option with RM for £160 or £70 with TGE
TGE offer up DPD, TNT or UPS0 -

We have used Trans for years, yes I would recommend them.
If you aren't getting standard RM options it may be because their maximum weight is 2kg. If your parcel is 1.99 for instance, use that, it will bring up the RM costings.0 -
Thank you. Your input is really appreciated.

When you do the price finder, click on SMALL PARCEL - actually I'm looking at my business account, apologies, it may be less size/less value for over the counter for RM.

I think that must be it as I had selected small parcel. Bah humbug!0

I think it is the value. Apols, as I said above, I was looking from our RM business account, not the over-the-counter rate.
Is it 2k retail or wholesale? Can you reduce the value? It may be a carrier is the best value unless you can split the shipment (difficult with one length of fabric).0 -
I couldn't reduce it unfortunately. I'm returning it to its owner and it's one of two made so I need to insure to full value. Ho hum. It's going not to the Netherlands for the maker to clean and send it on so the quote is £55 now. That's via transglobal DPD. Which is ok.0

If, for example, your item was considered as antique it would not be covered.0
