Caution using DPD tried to deliver to right number house but wrong road, unable to contact on phone (Only email or text).
NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL AFTER LAST FAILURE
Was there an error with the postcode? I've had a similar situation with a carrier where they tried delivering to the postcode street. My error and they sorted it out the next day.

There can be problems with all carriers but I have found DPD to be one of the better ones and their system of texting a delivery time slot is rather good.

I am looking to send some parcels that have electrical equipment are in the region of £300 to £500 and will fall (differently) in the 1KG to 5KG weight.

Short of RM SD which is about £25+, is there anyone else that covers that insurance and doesn't exclude electrical?

so which courier do you recommend to have eliminated human error?
  • My daughter was working in Austria last winter and left a suitcase of winter clothes with a friend there. She was planning to go back for a holiday to pick them up but now won't be able to this year. What would be the best way of getting them returned and how much will it cost.

A company that promises to call back the same day and honours that.

A company you can contact when they make a mistake, and they reply.
A company that promises weekend delivery but doesn't honour that either.

Perhaps I was extremely unlucky,

    Just airing my frustration :(

    No you were not.

We get delivery drivers coming here all the time by mistake and parcels left that are a for a different address.

Only recently in one instance I explained that he was delivering to the wrong address and he acted like I was lying!!
  • Having read through this thread, I'm pleased I have made the right decision when I need shipping, especially overseas.

I have my own carp fishing bait company and send bait all over the country and over the world, mainly Europe and the USA.

Luckily enough I live near Heathrow airport and there are quite literally hundreds of courier firms based nearby. Having used numerous courier firms, I have found I get better and cheaper service from the independent ones who offer a more personable service.

Lately I have used a company called Impact Express in Colnbrook, who pretty much do everything I need and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Fast, cheap and reliable is pretty much what they offer and what I need, so they get a a double thumbs up from me.

    Look them up on google.
  • Used to use parcel2go, but out that they just sub their work out to other carriers, best to try and find out who they use then go direct and save yourself some money.

Did something similar myself, used Impact Express in Colnbrook
