I am very confused as I am an existing HD customer and the offer seems to have changed since the codes have been released.

The original wording stated something like "50% off for new customers (or existing customers who have had for Sky 12+ months)". I cannot remember correct words but have a copy on my iPad at work as I did not shut down the page.

All my family interpreted this as new customers or existing customers - as long as they have had Sky for over 12 months. Three families, three packages, we all got codes - worth a lot of money.

However, the wording has now changed to "New Sky customers (or those who last had it over 12 months ago) can use these codes for a year's 50% off broadband and ALL TV packages" which is completely different and means that we are not elegible. My sister compared the two sets of wording (from then and now) on her computer as she didn't shut her computer down last night and kept the original webpage up and also confirms that the wording has changed.

What's happened? We thought that we were elegible, got excited when we got codes and now they are worth nothing and we have inadvertently stopped other people from obtaining and using these three codes.

I have even received an email from MSE about ten mins ago, confirming my code and to follow the link addressed.

This is a farce. The same problem occurred.

    The MSE email read...

    Hi,

Here's a reminder of the Sky 50% off code you got from MoneySavingExpert.com (CODE REMOVED)

You have until 19 December to redeem the code. Use the links below to do this:

50% off Sky+TV for new customers* 50% off Sky+HD for existing Sky customers*

For the full details of the deal, plus the terms and conditions of the offer, please read the full Cheap Sky guide.

Please remember this code is for you and you alone. It may not be passed on, sold or otherwise distributed. Sky may cancel the code if it discovers this has been done.

If you have any problems redeeming the code online, you can also ring Sky customer services to sign up. Call 08442 411 818.

We will delete your details once the codes have expired - and we won't email you again.

    Best regards,

    MSE Team

I think you'll need to reach out to Sky for help...as they are the ones behind the site with the issue...

I agree to a certain extent...

Yes Sky is an external site to MSE, agreed.

However if MSE are "blagging" deals they ought to work with those third parties to ensure a smooth transaction. This has not occurred. I am sorry to say.

This doesn't bode well whom to trusts MSE advice and its offers tbh.

If there is a technical fault MSE ought to advise those that have being affected and to rectify. I cannot imagine Martin standing for this.
  • :( Im gutted as I missed out on a code because the agent at Sky didnt tell me I needed to get one. Spoke to someone named Simon via their chat help box yesterday at length and he told me to come back today when codes were activated. I did only to be informed by another customer service rep that all the codes have now been taken

All they could offer me was 3 months at half price :( What use is that tbh its only half the cost of one months subscription for me at the moment so £15 saving over 3 months isnt really worth it, the 12 months would have been obviously. So much for customer loyalty too nearly 13 years continuous subscription with Sky and their not even bothered to help.

I so hope there is another chance to blag a code and I get hold of one. I cant even ask if anyone has a spare one as their post code generic.

    Frustrated.
Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!

    Hi,

I had the same trouble, but you can enter the code once you find the right page. If you follow the link below you should be able to enter your code and proceed as normal.

    Hope this helps

There is a fault with your code, others codes, including mine were accepted by Sky. At a point the codes werent being accepted as the site was busy.

The code you have may be showing as used in some way on Sky's systems based on what you have tried to do with it, MSE have nothing to do with that, as its something that Sky are refusing.
