So tomorrow is my first day off from reduced hours. I'm calling them the "1 in 10" days. I'm looking forward to having some more time to myself, that's for sure, but I also need to be making extra money.
So here's the plan for tomorrow:
1. Trawl for ebay-able goods and take photos while I have daylight. Might try and list too, but we'll see how much time I have
2. Finish writing a report for a private client.
3. Background research for part time job (7hrs a week, flexible working) for a local farmers market. Only saw this yesterday, would be perfect to fill a gap (and then some) in my finances and I love the employer and what they do and stand for.
4. Start thinking about Christmas: who am I buying for (aiming for greatly reduced list this year); what are they getting/what can I make/how much can I cover with the £50 amazon voucher I won
Will be a busy day! Plus I'm having my hair cut in the morning. OK so this is spending money, but it is also desparately needed!Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -

Well 3 out of four ain't bad. Well 2 and 1/2 really because I didn't list anything on eb4y yet, but that was a bonus point, so yeah lets call it 3.
Other than that, a bit of an expensive weekend, what with haircut, bill spaid and Sunday lunch out with friends. Was lovely to catch up, and well worth the money, although that didn't stop my pangs of guilt! Such a difference from the person I was a year ago!Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
I had been getting depressed by the fact that my bank account seems to be going backwards this month.
Then I realsied the new project I've been given in work means that I'm paying huge amounts in expenses: £100 a week or there abouts. Weekly (or more) meetings requiring peak return train tickets
I will get the money back but not until two pay checks away (Nov expenses are claimed early Dec after Dec paycheck has been made, so Nov expenses come attached to Jan paycheck) It's really not good for my cash flow. But at least it's not my own spending that's getting me into the mess!Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
Nearly pay day! And my bank account is not looking nearly as bad as I thought it might! (Sorry about the pun!)
Actually as this will be the first pay check with a 10% cut in it, I approach Thursday with a bit of trepidation. I have no idea how big it will be this month, and how far I can go with over payments.
I've started on my Christmas shopping, Dad is sorted for both Christmas and Birthday (on 1st January), just rest of family and BF. I'm keeping the list very short this year because of debts repayment/pay cut and so on.
I need to design and make my Christmas cards again too. probably will do that on my next 10% day next week.Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -

KC! You've put a smile on my face!that's absolutely great! What a result!
And what a good idea to do the totals etc.
well done for sticking to it - that's an amazing success. :T:T:T
I may take a leaf out of your book and do something similar in March, though the world may have changed by then and I may be just about unemployed!
Time to get up now

Thanks Catriona, it feels pretty good. And good luck with the voluntary redundancy thing. If you can make it work for you it could be a great opportunity to develop your career.
Not much to report in Karma Towers. I've been racking up the NSDs and getting my Christmas shopping sorted. I just have a couple of gifts to arrange and it will be all done.Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
Spendy day yesterday, bit of Christmas stuff and some things from B00ts I needed, and some things from the sweaty betty sale
not necessary, but I wanted to treat myself to a new yoga top for ages. I use general vest tops and they always fall down when I'm in downwards dog or shoulderstand. And some new slippers, because I have none and it's becoming necessary! Both half price, plus and extra 10% off from the email and collect in store delivery so minimised the costs as much as possible.
I guess they are kind of a need, but I still feel guilty not putting the money on debts.Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
So I was doing so well with Christmas presents, all coming inunder budget more or less, and ideas for everybody. But this weekend it got a bit derailled!
BF had lost his swiss army knife, and so I decided to buy him a new one for Christmas. I knew what he wanted, and I decided to get it engraved . . . which I thought after I'd done it might be a bit bold, given that it meant I couldn't return it . . .
On the weekend he found his old one again
Now I'm going to give it to him, as it has his name on it! And it's and unusual spelling, not like it's John Smith or something :rotfl: But I feel he isn't getting a proper present, so debating getting hime something else. ie. throw money at the problem.
I could get him some more aftershave, but I doubt it would arrive in time (would need it for the weekend, as he's off to Family then and I won't see him till after Christmas then) and not-on-line is so much more expensive.
But maybe it's silly, because the knife was expensive and a fine present under other circumstances!
