  • Today was a very MSE day! I stocked up on toiletries using the cash back on my 4qua CC, so only spent £1.50ish, which will be paid off in full next month.

Actually now that I've checked the figures the extra spend was only £0.47! :money:

  • I was beginning to think that in comparison to other people on these boards I hadn't made much in-roads on my debt. I've cleared just over £2000 in that year, and there are plenty on here that have cleared that in a couple of months.

But I was reading over my early posts, and it made me realise how far I'd come. And that actually, even though I've cleared less than others, I've cleared a lot. And you can't compare yourself to some body else who's circumstances are very different.

I think it's blimmin' good! (especially compared to my current state of affairs...)

And to get to £3000 in the next two months would be an amazing achievement, go for it! :D

  • Thanks Lotti. You're right it is good, and if I can make the £3000 mark by December I will be pleased with myself. I makes my planned DFD of June 2015 look totally possible, when I have to say at times it's not felt that way.

I am proud of how far I've come, and I intend to go all the way to Debt Free!

  • I should also point out Lotti, that you have a similar amount of debt on your signature as I did when I started. You will get there. We all will, we just might not do it at the same pace is all.

    Thank you!

Sometimes it does feel as if I'm not taking it seriously enough (a la NSK and her challenges), so that is very good to hear! :D

Ah yes NSK, who we all aspire to, huh?! :D In fact that was my bench mark when I was worrying that I "wasn't doing enough" so I know exactly what you mean! She's amazing, but I also know I couldn't do debt busting quite like she does, although I wouldn't be any where near as far on without her challenges.

  • Car wouldn't start this morning. Had to get a lift to work from my DF! Felt about 12 years old again :rotfl:

I'm borrowing some jump leads from a friend in work so hopefully that will be enough. Fingers crossed I don't need a new battery, or worse find a mystery electrical fault!

Otherwise today I will be making an over payment on the CC, and having a NSD.

  • Well, we got the car jump started this morning (didn't bother to try yesterday) and I drove it to work with no radio, no heaters nothing to sap any of the precious recharge the battery was getting! Hopefully it will start again at the end of the day, I've parked on a hill just in case _pale_

I think it will be fine, but I probably will need a new battery. I will take it to be checked next week.

On a completely different note, I handed in my notice to my gym on Monday, so that will cut £40 off my expenses a month (this allows for going back to my old yoga classes at £45 a month if I go once a week).

Buuut I also think I'd forgotten that when I signed up I got 1 month free on the 12 month contract, so they haven't taken my DD this month. I'm not so confident that I'm going to spend the money, but it will take the pressure off as mis-calculated my budget this month and so was a little too enthusiastic on overpayments and left no leeway for things to go wrong! (like new car batteries!).

    That's a bit of a relief!

    How is the car doing?

  • KC - you're doing very well, congrats! The percentage of debt paid off is going up. :)
    Good work!

Do you think the car is all good now?
