  • So yesterday was a NSD, and so is today, fingers crossed.

I changed my spreadsheet around this month (oh dear, this is quite sad isn't it?!) and it's so much clearer to me. I have it set up so everything totals and I can see how much I've spent in each catagory and in total. I used to have the totals at the bottom of the spreadsheet, and obviously didn't look at them too closely. Now I've moved them to the top where they can't be ignored and it's made a world of difference!
    Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAID
    TAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18

    Hello

Changing the s/sheet around is prob how you find more money for debt repayments - then you can see how much you spend on your discretionary categories, like going out etc.

PADing is making a payment a day to your selected debt, people have different strategies, but for example rounding down your bank balance at the end of the day, i.e. if you have £583.24 in your surrender acc, you'd pay £3.24 to the debt. On days where there has been no spend I've seen people move £1 over.

Hey, guess what, my quidco payment has finally been confirmed and is waiting to be paid to me. £120! Been waiting since early Dec 2012 and was beginning to lose hope, as so many had theirs declined...

    Have a good weekend

Oh congratualtions on your quidco payment. Makes me think I haven't checked my account in ages . . . might be something there for me.

PADing makes more sense now. I'm not sure it's for me, as I think the constant flow of money would be too confusing. I like to know where I am and that's best done when my bank account doesn't move at all! But I might consider it.

Very low spend weekend, just £5 for a bag of charcoal! BF bought all the things to put on the BBQ, and now I have lots of lovely leftovers to feed me for the rest of the week. I get food bought for me, he gets cooked for, everybody wins! :rotfl:

Hehe re BBQ, it's a win-win! Perfect! My garden is a bit of a jungle (though we sprayed weedkiller on all of the lawn - previous owners had had a veg patch, there were huge weeds and not much of a lawn, so starting again is the best option!) - but I can't wait until I can sit in the garden! One of my bf's birthday presents was a barbecue - a gentle hint ;)

I think I get what you mean about PADing. Personally, I try to set a very strict budget to begin with, so I'm wondering whether I'd be able to do it, but I'm going to try. See if it makes any difference.

Hope you find some £ in your quidco acc!:)

Nothing in Qudico, but £11.24 my Topcashback one :T so that's the extra push to drop me under £7500. In theory, OD isn't looking too healthy at the moment, so may not be sufficient! Having said that I also have several things doing quite well on eBay - who'd know so many people would want a 10yr old iPod! - so the fat lady ain't sung yet!

  • So the £11.24 fro cash back and the ebay sales put me about £50 up :T So now begins the great internal debate: off the OD or off the CC? I think it might end up coming off the OD, so that that's brought back into line after some hiccups last month.

So yesterday was spendy (toiletries, train tickets, and a treat of a chinese while cat-sitting) and today with be a NSD.

I left this in the account to come off the OD. I think I will end up in a better position than last month but still might have a bit of a drop in current debt repayments :(

I was away for the weekend with the BF, visit his friends and family back home. Relatively cheap weekend, just a few drinks and the train ticket. And two NSDs under the belt so far this week, so feeling quite positive.

  • Quick update before laptop battery dies! Spend day yesterday to get things for French driving holiday, and a birthday present for a friend. Today was a NSD.

  • Spendy weekend, so feeling a little sheepish. Not anything particualrly expensive, but a lot of little things that have stacked up.

Going to bring it all back under control this week: NSD yesterday and today, and again tomorrow. Bit late to change the figures, but never to late to change my attittude!
