Not much has happened in the last week. Nice quiet weekend away with the BF, and not too spendy. I managed to avoid overstocking the cottage and ending up with loads of leftovers. It's good to know I'm beginning to know what "enough" looks like in lots of ways.
April, so far, has had some spendy days (needs and budgeted), and so NSDs. I think however I've got back into the habit of spending a little, so wantingt o rack up some NSDs next week to retrain myself.
Oh, and today I had a meeting with a finacnial advisor - I'm going to set up a pension. Only tiny contributions at the moment, but I've worked out that with the new personal allowance it I won't really notice the differenc eto my take home pay, so it will be reasonably painless :T feels very grown up! Hopefully, as I earn more I can up the amount I pay in.
Enjoy the weekend all!

Well April has got off to a rather spendy start. A few days where there were things I needed to buy, and so I then added in a few other things while I was not having a NSD.
But it needs to stop. The constant battle against the drift into spending. So I'm challenging myself to having as many NSDs in a row as I can manage. I know I can do 4 (today to the weekend), but I'm going to aim for 7, because there is no need to spend this weekend either.
Wish me luck!

Urgh, another non-paying bidder on eBay. And as if that wasn't enough they sent a really rude email saying they've already said they were paying, that they bid accidentally (this was response to my invoice)
1. I didn't recieve any email.
2. Who "bids accidentally"?? It might be buyers remorse but that's not my problem. You place your bid and then you have to confirm it, what were they sleep-bidding or something.
Ridiculous.
And it's confirming my feelign that the hey-day for eBay is over. Going to have to find better ways to make more money because it's just too much time an energy involved.
Well my local charity shop will thank me no doubt!Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -

Well, the eBayer had mixed me up with another bid, so paid and in the post last week. I might have a change of heart with eBay, we'll see how the next free listing weekend goes.
I managed a NSD weekend for the first time in ages :T so really pleased with myself. Unfortunately today has had spends: airport parking for Ireland trip to see BF parents (the earlier the cheap so it had to be done), a parking fine that I tried (and failed) to contest  and then later some more face moisturiser from B00ts. So exciting!
Yoga later - haven't been making the most of my gym membership at the moment, must try harder with that.

Well I don't really understand what has gone awry this monht, but it looks like I won't have a great deal to put towards overpayments, certainly nothing like the £550 I'm hoped for.
Maybe that's it. I'm hoping for overpayments. I'm not really WORKING at debt reduction. I'm not spending, and making efforts to increase debt where I can, but I'm not really approaching this as an activity or a hobby in itself.
And maybe that was fine for the first bit of this challenge. To change my mind set and make some good habits. But now I need to step it up a gear. I'm going to set myself one task that will save or earn me money per week. Just as I set aside time to excercise or sew, I need to make time for debt-busting.
So this week I am going to sell excess books/CDs through one of those trade in websites.
Also will help witht he de-cluttering. bonus!

OK, so I went to try and sell books/CDs this evening, and some of them are worth nothing/aren't even wanted, and the rest total the princely sum of £5! :rotfl: So the website won't take them because they need a minimum of £15 for the postage to be worth while. Oh well, I guess the charity shop will get more than that for them so it will be my good deed of the week.Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150

So NSD today, with some errands run:
Contact lenses collected (paid for on DD)
Things into dry cleaners (pay on collection)
Return parcel to post office (pre-paid)
"Worthless" books and CDs to charity shop
Nice to get a few things "done" always makes me feel better.
I confess I did have a quick browse in the charity shop for a few things I've half an eye out for, but didn't buy. It was interesting because as I drove away from the shops I realised that before (6 months ago) I would have spun out the trip looking in the chemists/co-op/charity shops for somehting to buy just BECAUSE I WAS BORED
How sad is that. And how much time did I waste doing those kind of things. Oh well, not any more.Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
Hi KC - you've been busy! I see you're at the same point as me - you've done the budget, realised where you can make the cuts, now it feels like we have reached a plateau... It's so much easier to pay money off when I get excited about the result. But now it's just plodding on...

I keep trying to remind myself that it's easier not to spend £100 than earn it!
Well, I think I've been neglecting this diary slightly - a whole month ahs gone by and I'm still on the same page. It's pay day again, but I'm less excited because I have less to show for it this month. A measly £2.81 of overpayment. Shameful really, but that's what happens when I spend first and debt repay second.
That's not happening this month: I have already done an overpayment of £500, and might do another one, once I've racked my brain over the budget again. So I will be under the £8000 mark at the end of this month, which is a nice thing to know. Hopefully that will keep me motivated.Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150
