My town(+5miles) there are 5 groups, a wider search 25miles and there are loads(206) in the nearby towns and some that are more county based(like walk groups or those that need a wider catchment).
Not a fan of the pets idea, great untill you need someone to look after them.0 -
I'm on meds so can't really comment on that aspect, they work for me but everyone is different.
One thing i do find helps, is writing in a journal. Sometimes its good just to write things down and get it off my chest so to speak. Its also good for keeping track of my moods, for example i realised the week before my period my mood seems to get worse so i know now to make sure i make an extra effort to keep myself in better mood at that time.
Socially, even though i left uni 4 years ago, i'm an *unofficial* member of my uni's rock society. They have a social every 2 weeks where we all meet up and just chat and have a laugh. I've mde lots of friends and 2 of my closest friends were met through it, so i'd encourage you to find something social like through meetup as it can really open doors, and give you something to focus your mind on.
Relationship wise, it must have been a a massive shock for you, take time to look after yourself and really try enjoy being single. Were there any things you really wanted to do/try when you were in that relationship that maybe you didn't get the chance to do? Now is the time to do them. I won't give you all the sentimental speial about someone coming along etc etc, as you don't need to hear it. Personally when i was ready i ventured into online dating and after kissing my way through several frogs found my now bf.

Having read this thread and relating very much to it, I have today signed up as a volunteer with my local Carers Support (Gardening...when the spring comes!) and enquired about a new local choir (The old one being not my style)
