    Hi, All

Not wanting to bring down everyone's mood, but it's time to admit that I've had a car crash of a year regarding both my parents' health, culminating in my mam now being in a care home suffering from alzheimers and my lovely dad dying a couple of weeks ago.

This month, I've reacted to this awful time by saying "to h3ll" with it all, and have simply spent as I've wanted or needed to, to try to fill the void. I've also had a lovely week away in Devon and Cambridgeshire with friends for some much needed hugs and TLC. I could hardly lift my case today for all the lovely homely things I've bought...albeit all were half price or less...aye, even under duress, I'm reasonably MSE :)

So, this evening, having arrived home, I've done some painful calculations, and for the first time in quite a few years (well, since I found MSE, actually), I have a DEFICIT, yes, a bloomin DEFICIT to report of minus £250...so have to transfer savings back to cover my bills.

The shame of it, eh? :o

So, if I could have a minus £250 entered into August, and I'll do my best to get myself sorted for September...

Well done to all who have done better than wot I have for August...hangs head in shame :o

Sorry to hear about your parents Lavender and don't feel guilty - money is to be used to make us feel better - some months that means saving, sometimes to comfort us when feeling low. It is strange when you manage to get bargains even when determined to spend - obviously MS is a habit for life now.

I overpaid £139.94 today - no 7 please voucherman

Hello. Number 52 signing in here.

Sorry to hear your sad news LB. My Mum went into a care home last year and soon after my Dad was diagnosed with cancer. He is now in remission (touching lots of wood and fingers permanently crossed) so I have seen a slight glimmer of what you're going through. Sometimes money is the least important thing to think about - your welfare is far more important.

I'm afraid I haven't updated for some time and am now down as 'Must try harder' :o Have been paying it off - honest - just haven't been posting. Anyway to update: May paid £1000, June paid £625, July paid £625 and August have just paid an extra amount so £1850 for August. So this should make me £275 short of my intended total to the end of August at £7725 in all. I think thats right - might have to go off and check my figures.

Sorry, got that wrong, the August amount should be £1475, which means the grand total of £7725 is correct. Sorry, so many different bits of money going into different pots that I've confused myself.
