Hi
My overpayment is £170 for the month of August.
It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to do much more per month than this now until June next year.
Still, I'm planning a holiday of a life time and have saved about a third of the amount already which is good going.Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 20200 -
Holidays are very important especially if it's a trip of a lifetime!0

Jolaaled I've add your lastest ops and changed your target. A bit unsure about the April- June figures as you'd already posted some. Are these amendments or in addition to those already on the chart?
.
Thanks so much for checking tho.0 -

A youngster? Alas I'm getting older! I've hit the ripe old age of 24 and want to fit in some holidays before I start thinking about babies!
I'm planning a trip to disneyworld Florida. I've saved £1100 so I have enough for flights and accommodation and maybe some passes but I'm looking to save £3000 in total for spends etc. (It may not amount to that much but I'd rather save more than less, anything more can go on my mortgage!)
Also I'm going away with my mum in December to the Belgium christmas markets and have saved £125 towards the £200 cost. Already have 140 euro from last year so probably need to get another 100 nearer the time!
Plus I have glasto (if I manage to get tickets)
Plus I'm going to Italy with the family for my mum's 60th, my Aunty's 50th (and my 25th lol) been paid for just need euros for it!
Basically I have lots of little money pots going!!!!!
2014 is hectic and I've already had to buy extra holidays from work to accommodate!
So clearly I'm not being very MFW other than my standard £170 for a while!
I do have a £2 tin with about £400 in so how I distribute that once it's open is another adventure!Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 20200 -
I'm going to be ducking out of this as my house is due to sell next month. I decided to sell my house, rather than rent it out, it's over 90 miles away from where I work and live, so decided to sell up, bank the equity and save more for a deposit for a place closer to where I live.
Good luck to everyone on the MFW challenge.0 -
Just opened my £2 coin tin and there's £490 in there.
Now i'm not entirely sure how much to overpay my mortgage by and how much to put towards my holiday.
50/50 split?Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 20200 -
Sounds like a good idea :j
Wish I'd never asked about your hols..I'm SOOOOOO jealous! :rotfl:Sounds like you're in for a fab year!
oh, and 24 is NOT old...nothing like it. I remember feeling 25 was the end of the world.....How daft!!0 -
It's going to break my back taking my £2 coins to the bank, i'm going to have to do it in stages!
Already planning my new tin. Will be popping the odd few £1 coins in too to fill it up quicker and will put that money towards American dollars and open it next April!
I don't even notice the loss of money anymore when i put it in the tin, it's crazy how quickly it can all add up!Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000

Number 135 with an overpayment of £169.08 for August please Voucherman
I think that makes my total year to date £3665.29/£5500 :T
Am hoping for a couple more overpayments this month and my mantra is still going strong: July next year, we WILL be mortgage free :j
