    :jMorning All!

A better month this time. I've tried SOOOOOO HARD to keep my purse closed :rotfl:Today is the best day of all...Payday!!:T

So, £800 op is winging its lovely way to my escape mortgage pot. I now have only 3 monthly payments to make (Aug to Oct) before I can pay off the balance (expected to be around £16k) with my OP savings made over the last 3 years :T.

    So close....:A

Keep going Folks. If I can get this close, so can you, too.

    LB xx
  • :jOoo Well Done LB. That is SO exciting! You'll have to keep 'visiting' us all on this thread after October to keep us all motivated! :j

Oh, yes, I'll be here to [STRIKE]rub it in [/STRIKE] keep you all motivated.:rotfl:

Actually, I'll probably keep saving alongside you all still...just pretend I still have a mortgage to get rid of...if I'm allowed to...please, please. I need this thread to help motivate me :)

I have stages 2 to 5 of my plan to achieve - Stage 1 being pay the mortgage off :T, Stage 2 being save a rainy day fund - started but not yet achieved to the level I'd like, Stage 3 - save for a car to replace my company car (should I lose my job, as I expect to at some point), stage 4 - home improvements (ugh!), stage 5 - relax and enjoy life with a bloomin good holiday...sometime around age 75 at this rate :rotfl:
  • Oops, I've been really slack and forgotten to let you know my overpayments.

    If its not too late, please could you add an overpayment of;

    £100 for June

    £209.73 for July

    Thank you :)

    Hi all

I have made a July op of £1210. In addition I also had some amazing news in that we dont have to replace our entire roof! we just needed to overhaul it and keep an eye on it. So I have overpaid the remainder of the roof fund to the tune of £5000 :)

VM, if you dont mind I will change the new target of £3k to £8k and allocate all the above to it?

    thanks
    :)

    Hello everyone!

Pay day today, so OP of £850 for August just made - #123.

I'm hoping to do another £500 later this month (or at the very least £250 to take me below the £90k mark!), but given that I'm getting a new boiler and other works on the house in the next few weeks I think it's best to keep a buffer in my bank account for now!

    Thanks Voucherman :)

it's not looking likely that we'll make our £6000 target for this year due to unforeseen expenses (car dying much?) so can i please lower it to a possibly-still-impossible £4000? hopefully we'll get back on track next year :(

    I think this is brill!

Don't give up, small amounts as and when you can afford them are better than nothing, or, paying too much off and leaving yourself short for other essentials...keep going x
