I configured our Mac mouse - a big shiny wireless one - to have a right button. It works by detecting where your fingers are like a touch screen. Now most Mac functions have a right click context menu and no need to click pesky control key.

Go to System Preferences > Mouse > Secondary click > select Click on right side.

I was worried about making the move from windows 7 to 8... but after a few hours I really like it!

I'm sure on a touch screen the experience is even better but I'm very happy with it, it's A LOT faster than W7 also

Just got a new laptop which naturally comes with Win 8 so thanks to Lum for the pointers to getting the start menu back etc. - call me a Luddite I felt lost without one. I picked "Classic Shell" and now don't see the Start screen at all which suits me just fine.
