  • Hi can I join please?
I would like to have the house sorted before xmas :) curently unemployed and have hubby at home and 2 children dd 10 and ds 6. I am a 'I will do it tomorrow' kinda person, I have all the time in the world but keep having set backs (both kids off school ill for nearly 2 weeks on and off) and cannot be bothered as feeling quite depressed and stressed, I really lack motivation and when I do get tidy I fail to keep on top of it. What I have got done so far -
decluttered kids room and hoovered and changed bedding
    hoovered stairs, hall and landing
sorted out all kids books and toys downstairs (was slowly taking over the living room) into the toy storage unit
thrown away 7 bags of bits of toys etc they havent got much left!
redecorated tree (kittens keep climbing up it grr)
got marks out of carpet from puppies 'accidents' (she can go outside from monday!)
had a quick tidy and hoover in our room
put some washing through but not put away just folded p on the side

    what needs doing-
kitchen- top of cupboards find a home for stuff shoved up there
clean windowsill, walls, floor, cupboard doors, clean fridge, declutter freezer, put washing away not just upstairs.
    living room- wipe and dust
hall- sort out shoes and coats
top of stairs bring down tub of washing and get it done have about 6 loads of washing to get through
our room- put washing away, wipe drawers, windowsills clean mirrored wardrobes
bathroom wipe round take rubbish down stairs and mop, clean loo

Welcome MMM!try the hhc, half hour clean. Set your kitchen timer and go. It's amazing what you can get done, and really spurs you on.

Well, we had a playroom tidy this aft, following the macaroni and diggers. They both helped pick it all up, then there was an incident with some toes and a carpet sweeper, for which DS got a stern telling off. Then dinner, followed by a noodle from floor collection ugh they were all cold  washing up, empty DW and tidy lr.

Stripped beds and remade, watched strictly and dd fell asleep on my tum :A she's very cute when she's asleep :rotfl:

We've ducked out of church in the morning, since we're going to christingle service at tea time. Tots can have a bath and hair wash in the morning as I suspect we'll be late home.

  • Tree is up, Decs are up - DH will be pleased lol - he's the original Scrooge lol

Need to have a good tidy up now and put all the Xmas Decs boxes into the garage

I've been very productive today but after a bad nights sleep I'm starting to wilt now, one final push and then I'll collapse on the sofa

    Helen

You're married to a Scrooge? so am I! He'd have the decorations down on boxing day if I'd let him! He has been known to take them down on NYE ( he tends to do standby shift - he hates NYE - I go to a party on my own...)!

Flying suspended due to a stinking cold! Can barely breathe and feel rotten.

DD2 and DS out - DD2 out or her birthday (tomorrow - 19 - where has the time gone) DS out for a mates birthday. Words have been had about coming back in a better condition than last week. He's not listening! And he owes me a week's rent! Things can only get worse!

Hugs to LW and mumto5! Hope things get better soon.

Happy Birthday to CY's DD too!

Well I am officially sick of this cough and cold -I just want a good night's sleep and to actually feel human again!

Decorations are going up today and we are going out for dinner but apart from that I don't know. I may do some more wrapping.

    Have a good day all

    Hugs

Breakfast scoffed so now going to do a HHWrapping. DS is still asleep - must be catching up from being ill - so everyone's waiting for him to wake up.

When I had a house to look after (bungalow now),and a young family, pensioner now.
I used to put everything on stairs that had to go up,and made a rule ,,do not go upstairs empty handed even the children had to carry something of theirs, couldn`t trust them with some body elses ,it would be flung on bed, if you were lucky, more likely floor.
Do I need it or just want it.

Happy Birthday to Mudbath and Juliejim!

Slowly working through the house of doom. Dettol Mould and Mildew remover is superb but not good when you already have a chesty cough.

    hugs to mumof5 and LW.

Mission for today is to clear and clean the LR so that we can at least think about decorating. I want to wash the walls and the carpet which I would prefer to do without working round a tree.
