Feeling very Xmassy here in Jazee's joint. Having put the tree up last week, I've finally got around to cleaning the windows and putting the window decs up and made my tinsel wreath thingy. I also bought some old fashioned decs at the craft fair today so its all looking good.
Just having a mince pie and cuppa before venturing out with the dogs again.
Also made those cheesecakes, can't wait to eat one of them later.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Been hunting the internet for coats like Alex Fergusons, anybody seen any for sale?
Will this point you in the right direction?

Thanks to all who sent me hugs and words of wisdom. Things have calmed down a bit but DH and I are still frostier than the proverbial snowman. DS1 is unrepentant but uncomfortable about the situation he has created between us.
I've lost the battle to put the decorations up. The house is covered in festive dust.
I hope everyone is having a good day.
DS3 is walking much better on his fractured hip. He's very disappointed not to do tennis and football this weekend.0 -
Tree is up, Decs are up - DH will be pleased lol - he's the original Scrooge lol
Need to have a good tidy up now and put all the Xmas Decs boxes into the garage
I've been very productive today but after a bad nights sleep I'm starting to wilt now, one final push and then I'll collapse on the sofa

Sorry things are not great (((mumto5)))
DS has just had quite a whinge, he wants to play in the sandpit with his diggers, he has a bad throat and chest. I've said we can go for a gentle walk but no. So we are compromising and they now have a couple of trays of dried macaroni and the diggers, in the playroom.
We are festive here too, few decs up, tots have been wearing their Santa dressing up stuff, we've done lots of Xmas crafts, watched xmas films etc. I'm feeling quite chilled about it all as we are all shopped for, the cards are done and some of the presents wrapped. So pleased I started early, most of it was done by October as I knew November would be tough. So now it's just a case of sitting back and enjoying the ride. Next weekend we have two parties and the Santa train followed by Sunday lunch. I have my works meal and the kiddies nursery singsong on Wednesday.
I only have 6 days left at work this year :T
Must sort MIL birthday present...Bossymoo

I'm overwhelmed.
Mr LW is on 24-hour On Call all this week; he's had to log onto work this afternoon, poor cuss, and I've been listening to him muttering "oh poo" under his breath at intervals.
Starting next Sunday, he's got 12-hour shifts while they do the data-centre move; it's hoped it'll only be a couple of days, but reallistically, these things never run smoothly, so I've batch-cooked a bunch of Shepherd Spies that I shall freeze, and he'll take those to work so that he can have a proper meal, as he won't get home til after 22:00 those days.
I have a ton of tasks that I need help with. (Our usual weekend tasks, but obviously his paid work has to take precedence).
I have 2 gallons of wine to rack and I can't lift the demijohns myself.
I just want to hide under the table and chew a slipper! If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
(((hugs))) to LW & Mumto5
Well, after a bit of procrastinating, I have done 880 words on my case study (470 today - so need another 280 for today's target). i have also done 2 loads of washing (TD has just bleeped for 2nd load to be folded). I am going to give my eyes a rest now & clean the toilets (oh, joy!)
DH has taken the kids Christmas shopping (on a Saturday!), posted all but one of my cards (instead of asking for 2 books of stamps - I will need more - he asked for 14, but had miscounted the cards! Doh!) and he picked up the book I had ordered :T
Ok - I am off to the bathroom/utility room now to scrub toilets & basins. back soon0 -
I have done lots of washing which has been on the line all day
I have decided that asthma is a typo, or a mail merge accident, and what the letter SHOULD have said was HRT;)
Sold 1 item on ebay; this has prompted a cupboard tidy to find the thing, anyway I have a tidier cupboard.
Oh, and we are in for the mildest, snow-free-est winter for a few years. This, I can guarantee, is ENTIRELY down to me. Why? I have bought a new snow shovel.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Hugs for LW & Mumto5 - and anyone else who needs one.
Cards written and 'posting' ones posted. Presents organised (it does help that I don't have many of either).

Funny HHI - I thought I would be back with a cuppa to lurk before now!:rotfl:
My HHi turned into X 2 - as when I tried to stuff the cushions back into their covers I washed yesterday, they wouldn't quite fit - so I had to give the covers a jolly good iron to get all the seams and decorative stitching flat - and I must say they look sooooooo much better for an iron-
Ironed some of my maternity T's, two of DD2 school shirts - a stack of T -towels - and decided on the ironing board that 3 had probably seen better days years ago - so they went in the bin :eek::eek: I am shocked but pleased at how ruthless I am getting now I am throwing stuff away everyday
DD2 has been dumped by the "love of her life" for the 2nd time in a week - and has been stomping around the house - so I agreed to de-clutter her to her friend's house on a 10 minute trade-off suggested by Lamewolf - I told her the more pressing things she got done the quicker we could leave
in her 10 minute trade-off DD2 did the following:
stripped her bed and took to the utility:eek:
emptied the remaining washing baskets to the utility
put her makeup and straightners away
and got DS dressed into proper daytime clothes
on the way out of the door, DD2 asked for me to stop on the way and pick up some bits and bobs as she had run out of cash :rotfl::rotfl: I know a non - repayable loan coming when I see one :money::money::money: so a trade-off was agreed she would stay in the car with DS while I got her items and stuff off the list for me or what could be part of a 27 fling-boogie.
I managed to buy a box of cards for DD3 as this was becoming a bit froggy, got some bits and bobs for store cupboard (been out of black pepper for days;)) took some glass jars to recycling point in the car park and took the bag of out of date medicines with me for safe disposal at chemist.
Drove along the coast road - 30 seconds of me time that always lifts my spirits, de-cluttered her and came home and on WM marathon, started on putting away shopping and a cook-fest
WM fed X6, TD fed x 4 - basket holding one load wet washing - sink has whites in soak
Oven is stuffed to capacity cooking quorn chasseur, chicken chasseur, beef bourginon and a tray of jackets :j:j:j
Hob has got a massive pan of boiled rice cooked ready to make meals with and/or convert to egg fried rice/kedgeree/frittata or whatever else I might to de-clutter my fridge or freezer from in the next 48 hours
Oh a me portion of Thai Green Chicken Curry :rotfl::rotfl: the jar was almost empty - not enough to do quorn curry for 2 or more- so I have one more jar ready for another trip passed the recycling point
Fridge is currently nursing a big bowl of muesli soaked in yogurt - the yogurt is due to go out of date tomorrow - and was stuck towards the back of the fridge, so that will do me for a stupid o'clock flying snack.
DS is down for his nap, tempted to get hoover out, but not sure he is asleep enough to ignore it - off for a quiet fly nowThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Evening everyone.
Got the dailies done then went into town for some last minute presents. That will be the last trip there till the weather improves again. Plus I can't stand crowds.
Have hoovered right through then wrapped some presents. Dry washing put away. Watching a Xmas film now with a cuppa.
Hugs spoons and sticks where needed.0
