This morning I have wrapped all the presents that I need to get into the post this week. Last night DH and I wrote all the Christmas cards but I am 12 stamps short , but at least I will be able to get some when posting the parcels.
On the flying front I have stripped Ds's bed and done 3 wash loads, now got the last load in the TD. I will fold the bedding and put it back on. Then only shirts in the basket so HHI should do it.
I have had numerous attempts at the kitchen wall following DS's mayo incident but to no avail. I even tried onme of those white eraser things from poundland that you just moisten but this appears to have taken the paint off. No hope of decorating this side of Christmas so going to put some of the Christmas cards up there and decorate next year.

Happy birthday to JulieJim, Mudbath and Miss Cycling Yorkie:)
Afternoon all. I've kept up with most things this week. Today DH and DDs 1&2 and I went to a pub for lunch and then had a pootle round the garden centre looking at the Christmas decorations, our annual outing. Bought a glass tealight holder and some tealights so didn't go too mad. DD2 bought hay for her guinea pigs and DD1 didn't buy anything. They won't get rich on us....
Really full after lunch but DH is drinking tea and eating biscuits now!0 -

Taking a while to straighten up is fairly usual for me I'm afraid and apart from some minor bruising, my ar8e over t1t moment hasn't left any lasting damage, but thank you for being concerned xx
Time to get off aforementioned mildly bruised ar8e and start the roast dinner *If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr0 -

Got away with not taking DS to football
Panto season has started.
Idiot across the road who has hogged a parking space with his works vehicle for months and months gave us a chuckle today. So desperate is he to keep the space he is, apparently, getting a lift to work (this I have never witnessed) but I know he walks home (I have passed him on the way home; given the last time he spoke to me it was aggressive, foul mouthed abuse and I called the police you will understand, I hope, why I don't pick him up) so he can keep his space also has a car of his own, which is usually garaged on a garage site up the road. Anyway, when I woke up this morning works vehicle had been moved a little way down the road and his pristine, shiny car put in the space. Apparently went somewhere (in works vehicle - why he didn't just go in his OWN car I don't know, given he was out with his wife and son); came back and very carefully moved car, leaving SON and WIFE to 'guard' the road while he shuffled his work vehicle back into position.
'Now you see it - now you don't'; 'To me - to you' and other such utterances.
If anybody's Village has an idiot vacancy...;)
:rotfl:
Anyway; finally got round to cleaning kitchen and bathroom; have had washing out all day which has dried - blowy here; DD and I cleaned out the gerbils using our new 'tandem' routine - gets two cages cleaned so fast! (one gerbil is mine and one is hers) made Dinner; bottled HM mincemeat (and only had to buy lemon and apple as had all fruit in from making the Christmas Cake!!) and have made a banana loaf. Am shattered though.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Just had a fall out with DS over answering back, (him not me:rotfl:). Took his laptop and xbox controller with me and handed him his bedding. I have told him to make the bed and pick up all the debris from the floor and put the clean clothes away. I have just cleaned out the woodburner in the lounge below his bedroom and there are definite sounds of tidying up...result:beer:Make £10 per day in July £45.48/£310

? Evening
happy birthdays to Mudders, Juliejim and CY's DD. Hope you have all had fsb days.
Big healing hugs for all the poorlies
Not much flying here since Friday as been busy busy.
Fri night was work Xmas meal and quite tame this year as we were all sooo ill afterwards last year.
Yesteday was up early to go to Lincoln xmas market. Glad we went really early as we never hit any traffic and by the time we left it was heaving. Brought DS back home from uni with us and he's back until mid Jan now.
Today got up and went clothes shopping with him, investing in his future as he is doing some voluntary work experience for 4 weeks when he is home as apparently its not enough to have a degree these days, bless him.
Certainly know he's home as when I sorted the washing there was about 4 times what there usually is! Have sincedone a food shop with DH, collected DD from a cadets thing she has been to and prepped dinner. Just chillaxing while I wait for the pinger to put theveg on.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Wrong time of year to be asking:D
Imagine you have a half full upright freezer; apart from food, what else can you put on the empty shelves to make it more economical to run? It's the sort with flaps rather than drawers.
in a former life I worked as an energy consultant for one of the big 6 energy companies (for shame) one of the published recommendations was to screw up used newspaper and stuff into vacant cavaties - it has no moisture to keep frozen therefore uses no energy
from practical experience I would make sure that your freezer has had a clean out and is defrosted before you try this method - if someone *ahem DD1/DD2/DD3* helps themselves to the contents then DOESN'T shut the lid/door properly - defrosted ice and newsprint on white plastic makes a pain in the butt to shift :mad::mad:
HTHThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Had a really nice day today doing mainly Christmasy things.
Going to do a bit of ironing next and get
DS3 to straighten the LR
DH to polish the shoes
DS1 is on clearing table/dw dutyThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
