Morning Missy!
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your evening and I second what Wendz said!!!
Your plan looks great, won't be long before it becomes routine and you won't need to check your list to what you will be doing. I'm having a day of trying to get organised before going back to work Weds.
Any nice NY plans for you?

Thanks choc, Happy New Year to you and to anyone else lurking

We had a nice new year but was a really late night and I'm still paying for it now!
Still extremely unorganised and the house is still a mess
, mostly due to the fact that I haven't slept properly for 4 nights and I keep nipping off and trying to have a nap, leaving roo with OH, but more often than not I can't sleep so I achieve the square root of nothing!
Trying to get an early night tonight, as have my scan tomorrow and I'd quite like to get the house a little bit sorted before we go.
I've been reading up on a few things, which I have found really helpful in making the first steps into getting organised. There's a thread called Mums get organised in 2013, which is really good, and I have been looking at household manuals, which I really think could help to get my life in order.
I intend to have a plan like above, but with extra bits and pieces, like jobs that need doing once a month like, cleaning windows etc. A bit flylady ish. Then I'm going to have meal plans and shopping lists, along with addresses and birthdays and recipes. Tesco have some of their stationery on 3 for 2, so I'm going to build myself a little folder. OH thinks its a big joke and doesn't think it will work, but I'll show him.
I've been thinking of ideas to help with the organisation of things, so the things I'm going to implement to get this little miss organised are:
calender on display with room for writing to show appts etc
Household manual with daily routines/jobs
washing bags for light and dark
bag by the stairs to put things in that need to go upstairs
use the cork board in the kitchen for important things
move radio to kitchen to get me motivated
I know there are tons more that I thought of today but they aren't very forthcoming at the moment.
I have started with baby steps today and have made a list of what needs doing in each room, and goodness the list is long! I really wanted to be organised by the start of this year, but with not sleeping and christmas and OH being home it hasn't happened. So i have a new date for me to be in order by and it is the 14th January. This date for a couple of reasons. one because OH is away and I get far more done when he's not here and two because I have an OU assignment due in on the 10th, so I'm hoping this will give me enough time to be sorted by.
So if you're happy to join me on my journey, i will take the next two weeks to get my life in order. I'm going to try and pare (sp) down things, for instance, do I really need 3 medicine cabinet/boxes, do I need to keep broken tesco reusable bags and old magazines..... so a serious declutter is in order, I know I've said it before, but now I really don't feel like I have a choice but to sort it out.
So first steps are:
To finish my list of what needs doing in each room
to throw away/recycle another 20 things (did 20 today)
go through clothes and fill charity shop bag (actually take to charity shop!)
Feeling quite positive about everything, so hopefully I'll be able to put best foot forward and all that.0 -
oh and I think I'm going to join some challenges, such as:
fly lady
meal plan and stick to it
grocery challenge
and any more I think of.0 -
Go you!!!! Your plans sound fab. I'm too in the organising mode. Managed to sort and declutter all of my paperwork - which was a massive MUST do to start 2013 as I mean to go (i.e. clearing my debts!). I also need to focus on the house and being more organised. For some reason the latter part of 2012 had me spending all my time cleaning/clearing and not really having much time for fun social events. That has to change this year!!!
Good luck for your scan. Let us know how it goes....so exciting!!! Still no luck for us, I won't let it get me down though....she says ;-)

hey want to fit in, you've delurked now, you have to join in
lovely to see you x
Hey choc, sounds like you were on a mission with your paperwork clearing!
Scan all went well thank you very much, and.... we know what were having shhhhhh.....
Well apart from taking all the decs down and doing two dishwasher loads and 3 wash loads not much got done.
But today I haven't seemed to stop! So far I have taken all the clothes off the clothes horse and radiators and am in the process of sorting out. I've stripped mine and Roos bed, I've loaded the dishwasher, cleaned the worktops, sinks and cleaned the disgusting cooker hob. I've also washed and hung up one load of washing and have another one in.
feeling very productive, although am a little tired now, so just sitting down for a minute to write this and have a slurp of coffee then I'll be back on it. I intend to clean the inside of the fridge and the outside, put all the clean clothes away along with all the clothes strewn alll over the bedroom from a trying on session when I realised most things don't fit anymore!! I could do with hoovering the kitchen and washing the floor,do another load of washing and hang that and the white washing up.... oh and put clean sheets on my bed.... think that will do for now!! 0
