What a fab thread it's made me smile reading all the funny & fun things kids want. :)
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
  • When my daughter was three she only asked for one thing but was totally convinced that she would get it.........A BIG Brother

Alas even santa couldn't manage that!

my daughter is 3 years she whats a cake i asked is there any toys you would like she said no she has already got toys to play with. Today she added she would like a cherry on top of the cake and some cream and a santa hat. It might be because we don't have cake very oftern.
  • Strange how hedgehogs seem to be a common theme  I remember asking a family member what he wanted for Christmas about 30 years ago, and his answer was not only a hedgehog, but three hazelnuts as well, lol. Here in Seoul you actually can buy pet hedgehogs (the ones we see in the wild) in Tesco! Now I see the demand, in true MSE stylee, maybe I should attempt to smuggle a jumper-full back to the UK for Crimbo :rotfl:

Mine wanted a big heavy thing and a flying digger. My nephew wanted Mr Frosty for years and years. I bought it for his 21st.

My mum's just bought me the Mr. Frostie I never got as a kid, for Christmas.
    I'm 32 :rotfl:

  • I asked for a hamster one year and got....a rabbit. The year I got it I unwrapped a pet bowl, a bag of pet food, a water bottle and a bag of sawdust. I got huffy because I thought it was a horrible practical joke.

I've also asked for unicorns, penguins, 'tea cup piglets' and a polar bear. Actually when I get asked now what I want I always say a unicorn and a pony - so much so that one year my friend bought me a little plastic horse from ELC and presented me with that before my real present!

I've always been crafty/creative so most of the time bits and pieces on my lists were easily bought rather cheap

My bf's nephew (only 3) asked us to make sure his mummy gave birth to 'a baby brother or Buzz Lightyear or maybe, if not them then Woody would be ok' and if it was a girl could we please remind the doctors to 'return her so he could exchange her for what he really wanted'...he got a baby sister a couple of weeks ago :D He now wants us to get a new spotty fish for our tank!

“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”
  • A few years ago my five year old nephew said to me (during the summer), "One day, when you think you might have enough money to spare, do you think you might be able to buy me a penguin costume?"

He asked in the sweetest way, not wanting me to go short at all, and it was totally out of the blue. I remembered his request and gave him a penguin costume for Christmas that year; he was delighted with it and wanted to wear it when we went to the cinema to see Happy Feet :)
