    Indeed you were.

So out of over six million users, one would expect a few complaints.

And, working in Customer Services/other attached branches, for many years, I know that the amount of complaints any service provider recieves, is incremental to their size.

Unless you have another survey that says otherwise, lol. ;)

Exactly. Which is why any survey ratings table is based on the percentage of complaints, not on the size of the sample. The ISP's at the bottom of the pile will have got the highest level of complaints proportional to their customer base as measured in the survey. LOL indeed.

depends on the area and distance from your local exchange, I'm about 2miles as the crow flys from the exchange so I guess that's quite near?

No I meant the cost per month number! I find that the online website speed calculators are a bit biased and always show an "up-to" speed, so this was "up-to" 6Mbps, so that's too slow. Talk Talk's said "up-to" 14Mbps, never saw it. Only reached 11 on a good day. Sky promised "up-to" 24Mbps and I got 10-13, so that was the best experience.

Also, talk talk kept dropping for the first few months. We would be without the net for a few hours during the day or eve.

I've already pointed you to Computer Shopper and Which as sources. Both of which have some credibiilty for their independence and longevity.
Their low ratings go back several years now, they are not just recent ones.
Since you are implying otherwise, I have no bias against or issue with BT whatsoever. I simply haven't used them for 10 years or more now, because there are much better and cheaper alternatives for me.

    Which is fair enough.

Not all service providers are for everyone, or suit their tastes, budget, or customer service levels either. And there are many users who are with 'these are the worst' providers who have no problems what-so-ever. Guess I'm just one of em.

oh right, here, they credit your account £30 the 2nd month so it works out £16.50 a month, if you are not with orange or T-mobile a paygs is easy enough to pick up for free or a couple of quid.

If you are happy with BT, then fine. My point was that, statistically speaking, you are less likely to be so than with one of the top rated providers.

I think I'll go with SKy as Tesco have bad reviews and EE has only a speed of 6Mbps.

ignoring cable or fibre to the cabinet options, unless you choose a really cheap package that limits the speed, the speed you'll get should be similar whoever you choose, as it largely depends on the quality of your line and distance from the exchange. If you have extensions, removing the bell wire or using an iplate could improve it.
