    What's wrong with that?

There's nothing 'wrong' with it, but if I'd saved for 2 years I'd want to get more than 5 days out of it!

Good point! I think SFO deserves at least 7 days the first time around, awesome city :)
  • Two years saving because I'd saved the money up and then a lovely builder I was installing central heating for went off without paying me! So my savings went to pay the materials bill.
I totally take on board that some of ya believe it expensive but I've also heard from others who I know personally who said I'd done well.
Premium economy was chosen because coming back from New York on BA in economy was a blooming nightmare and that was a shorter journey! Yes I wish it was longer too but you live and learn.
Like I said the original post was just to suggest OPODO for a deal. lol
Whilst we're on the subject anyone suggest places to visit?

You should visit Alcatraz! Book your tickets before you go and my recommendation is the night tour. My OH and I went 2 1/2 years ago and while it was light when we went out, it got dark pretty quickly and added a spooky kind of feel to the tour. It was fantastic!

I also recommend these. It pays for transport on buses, trams and underground except BART, while it also lets you into a few of the attractions. We loved it since it stopped us feeling like we were constantly paying for everything.

+1 to the night tour - vastly superior to day tour!

+2 for the night tour, one of the best things we did in San Francisco.

We loved our day tour to Alcatraz, but I'd do the Night version next time. Definitely pre book!

We found the public transport reliable, frequent and cheap and used that to get around the city.

We visited Fishermans Wharf (tacky but probably a must do), GG Bridge, Chinatown, walked up Lombard St, Japanese Tea Gardens at GG Park, shopped in Union Square, went on trams and streetcars, wandered around a lot soaking up the atmosphere, etc etc. it is a great city. One of my friends described it as like being in a film set, as wherever you go you recognise things from the movies!

    Enjoy :T

All of these, and if you get time go out to Muir Woods, it's just up the coast and there are plenty of tours and I think it might be on a bus route too.

Cheesecake Factory on top of Macys in Union Square is worth a visit, despite the fat tax :D

There is plenty of outlet shopping in the bay area if you want to get some good cheap shopping in but might have to save that for a longer trip?
