I think it's a good thing to spend on. I pay £2.40 every time I go swimming (which I try to do 2-3 times a week), but I allow myself that. Exercise makes you feel good and energised and I think that'll only help keep you focused on your goal, you won't be feeling a bit down and tempted by a £5 bottle of wine for example. It's a pretty cheap pastime after all-cheaper than the cinema! Enjoy it- I'm hopeless at Salsa, I have to rely on some bloke just holding me up and spinning me around, i'm like a ragdoll!!!

Now I'm actually rather good at it. Just rechecked the website and she does ever 1st, 3rd and 5th weeks, so looks like I will be going next week.

I just find it hard sometimes to not feel guilty when I spend money on something I don't need. But I guess we need exercise right.

Give yourself a break- it's only £3.50. Better spent on dancing than a magazine or a coffee & muffin or something! Yikes, that's just reminded me of the 59p I've just spent on a bag of crisps-extortionate or what?! My Christmas Challenge could be going better...

    This is true.

Mine wasn't going very well until the weekend. My Lloyds OD isn't helping, but if I'm careful I might be about to pay them all of by christmas still. Have you got anything you can car boot or Amazon/ebay?

A few bits yeah, but going on hols next week so they'll have to wait til I get back. And don't mention cars to me! Mine just failed its MOT and is costing me £200 (at least)!! Wah! But on the up side, I've just been made permanent where I work (I've been temping with an agency for the last 6 months), so am getting a pay rise of about 4 grand (this isn't as good as it sounds-I'm on minimum wage at the mo). Will have to do some reckoning and see how both things will affect me, but have accepted that the OD must get bigger before it gets smaller.
It's all about the long haul isn't it? Short of winning the lottery, none of us will be out of our respective messes overnight <sigh>.

That's my attitude. At the end of the day if I go more into my OD then I am just going to have to work harder at paying it off. At the moment I am working on a case of £300.

Well done at being made permanent, that's one less thing to worry about.

I'll keep following your dairy and your progress. May I can get few qualities of yours.

    Morning.

Feeling a little pants today. Mother is off to stay with her sister for a week and half. I've been really good with food all week and don't think I've lost anything  and I'm starting to wonder whether it's worth the effort.

Problem is it means I was bad with money last night and spent £23 on clothes  I need them, but could have got them cheaper elsewhere. But I guess there is always next week.

So I am just going to stick with it and hopefully things will get a bit better soon. I've not felt so bad in a little while, just hope that it doesn't last to long.

Hope everyone has a good day x

    Morning Lucy,

Sorry to hear you're feeling so down this morning. I feel your pain with this - I am so looking forward to the day when I'll be able to go out and have a shopping spree (and not just on the sale rails!) and not have about 3 days' spending guilt afterwards! And any bargains you do find will be a bonus and not a necessity!

As for the diet, I'm no expert on this but from what I've read, everyone reaches a plateau after so long, maybe you need to up your exercise a bit? What you need is a salsa class!!

Try not to worry about one week of not losing wait and spending a little more than you planned, just keep thinking of the bigger picture - how much you've already lost/paid off.

    Best wishes, Lucy x
