That's a very good idea.
I might have to build up to that though. I treated myself to a knitting book which has loads of patterns in it. But I'm not going to buy anything else for it until I've worked out my budget after pay day.
I'm still learning some of the less basis stitches and only attempt something when I feel comfortable with it (Or it looks good!) But the lady in the local wool shop is really helpful and Mum has some baby cardi patterns somewhere, so I might hunt them out.
Feeling good about Amazon, although I am slowly starting to run out of things to sell :rotfl: may have to move onto ebay soon (if I'm brave enough!)
I think that the fact I'm not in a position to give to charity does annoy me sometime, so doing something good, always makes me feel better.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
I think that is a wonderful idea- so practical and yet so useful
I think DD will start to be interested in knitting etc next year so might teach her and do something like this myself at the same time.
Well done on the positive outlook Lucy - I do Flylady and am always shocked at just how much I donate to the charity shops when 'decluttering'! Everything can be reusedYou should feel fantastic about all you do and don't worry about the OD - you'll sort it!

Yeah but charity begins at home. Keep yourself a float and sort yourself out, then you can give later. Besides, the best thing you can often give a charity is your time.
I do the race for life every year. The atmosphere among the women is GREAT! Ok, so I only managed to raise £45 but its better than nothing. Next year I shall raise more because I'll be far more cheeky! I only walked it this year too after having the car crash, I was too scared to run incase I made my injuries any worse.
I highly recommend doing it with a girlfriend. It is really good fun and you feel really good about yourselve after.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Thanks Sea.
I do feel better taking things to the Charity shop, will have to resist a rummage while I'm there!!
But I have just worked out that my payrise is about an extra £69 a month. So once I have been paid I'm going to transfer £69 into my debt savings to be paid off the Lloyds OD at the end of the month.
That should clear it relatively quickly I hope. Also need to resist some of the nice new Clothes that Sainsbury's have.... I DO NOT need them, really I don't...Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
I thought about doing it with a friend this year, but she hadn't passed her driving test and we live an hour apart so never got around to it. But I might get her to do it next year.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0

Ok I've just had a look at the debt payment budget and I have worked out that if I use my payrise money (£69) towards debt repayment between now and christmas I could possibly pay off:
My Store card
Lloyds OD and
A and L OD!!
And this is without any extra Amazon money!! :j :T
How exciting is that, and I am still allowing myself a £20 a week spends budget. I'm so excited about it, it means that I would start the year with just my 2 lloyds loans and my bed to finish paying off and 2 of them finish in the 1st half of next year.
I think I'm starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. :beer:Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -

Thanks
I just needed to share that one. It might take some hard work and I am really going to have to learn how to stick to a budget, but it's doable.....
Must find more to Amazon!!! That would make everything that little bit easier.

It's go to be one of the first times, I've look at it and actually seen it as a possiblility. So I am going to give it a go and see how I do.
I would love to get rid of the 3 of them by Christmas, it woudl free up so much money each month for savings and other debts.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0
