New Life, My DFW Diary!

Morning everyone.
Well it's monday again and I had a better spending weekend. I went shopping yesterday and spent £11.50 on some clothes and shoes (I love Primark, I do!) Which wasn't in my original plan, but I now have 1 more complete outfit, 2 pairs of flip flops and a cardie to last all summer.
I think I've managed to give myself heat stroke or something as I feel a bit under the weather. The hospital have cancelled my appointment again so I need to call them and rearrange  So hopefully at some point in the future I'll get something sorted.
But I had another sale on Amazon so I have £71 waiting to be transfered into my account. The transfer should start today so that'll be nice. Still waiting for the info to come from A&L about my new bank account. MY thinking was even if I don't get a huge OD with the account anything will be better than nothing and at least something will be sat at interest free. But my main account is sat at £435 OD so once the £71 has gone in that'll be £365 (ish) so better than it was.
I have to pick up some photos today (my Aunt is pay for most of them) so I am hoping for a low spend day and then a few NSD as I need to start some good saving behaviour. I've been keeping my spending diary all weekend and I am putting cash and debit card payments into it, just so I know where I stand. But I can already see it working because I am thinking more about what I am spending already.
But I will keep you posted and let you know how I get on with A&L.

Well I had a slight moment with one of the women in Sainsbury's at Lunchtime. I've been trying to get some photos developed for ages and finally went in to collect them.... and..... they hadn't printed them all and half of the were stuck together!!!!!
The woman just looked up and said we had a problem with the printing machine which is why they are stuck together! They hadn't thought about reprinting them! And as for not printing them all she tried to tell me that there must have been something wrong with my disc, but she let me have a go at downloading them myself and it working fine!!
So I am not only having one set done for my Aunt... So I have saved myself some money as I was going to get a few copies done for myself. I still will but not right now.
End of the story is I have to go back into Sainsbury's on my way home and pick the photos up!! Grrr!
But I was so hacked off I ended up buying myself some strawberries to cheer myself up (£1.89) But nevermind. At least if I pick the photos up today I don't need to go back tomorrow and risk spending.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Well after my run in with the girls in sainsburys, I collected my photo yesterday evening.... And the only charged me £5.00 instead of £10 :j So needless to say like the good DFW I am I left the shop very quickly before they realised.
So I am now £5.00 up on what I had budgeted for :T But as I have my hospital appointment this afternoon that may well be going on the car parking  But I'm not feeling great today and I think it's a combination of things. Nerves regarding my hospital appointment, general not feeling great and my Aunt died a year ago today.
So it was never going to be easy, but I even struggling to think about her without busting into tears. I can feel them welling up now....
But I am going to try and have a good moneysaving day, but allow myself to buy some chocolate if I need it.
But good luck everyone.

Hi Guys
Well I thought I would do a quick update. Got through yesterday ok, although I comfort ate which means I doubt I'll lose any weight this week. Oh well! My hospital appointment was ok, but I need to have a scan now as they don't think I've got sinus problems but he wasn't sure what is wrong  I like being a medical freak!! It suits me.
But I am hoping for a low spend day. I left my packed lunch at home and can't go back and get it so, I'll be spending as little as possible on feeding myself today and I have 2 Amazon parcels to post.
But my aims for today are:
To keep it low
Do some exercise
Eat only healthy food
Have a freezer dinner (homemade pepper and tomato sauce and chicken)
Keep up my spending diary
I have to admit one thing about the spending diary i thought it would be really hard to keep and I would get really bored, but I haven't I fill it in every day. Either at lunchtime or in the evenings and it's really helping. I thought I would do a week and then look back at where I can cut things out. So doing really well and I'm really pleased with it.
Still waiting for my paperwork to come from A&L but hopefully that will be here by Friday at the latest.

Good Morning!!
Well my paperwork arrived from A&L yesterday. They have given me a £450 OD!!! Which is more than enough to cover my current Lloyds OD :T Which means once my card/cheque book arrives I can transfer the money and pay off my Lloyds OD
I know it only moving the problem, but interest free!! So that has cheered me up. Looking forward to getting that sorted. Really feels like I am getting to grips with the problems and getting the best deals for myself.
I also thought I would see what the A&L service is like and maybe transfer my whole account once I am free of OD's and store cards. But that is something for the future.
But I looked through my spending diary and need to cut back. But it's my birthday on Saturday so I am buying cakes for work today. I know I could make one, but I don't have the time
I weigh in tonight so hopefully will have lost something, although I don't think it will be much.

Hi
I thought I would do and early afternoon update. My internet connection hasn't been working all morning  and I'm not really sure how I am coped!
I bought cakes for work, which didn't cost as much as I thought they would, so thats good. I've managed to get a good deal of work done today which has made me feel better. I've had a few things sell on Amazon today, not much but every little helps. I'm going to have another clear out tonight or over the next week and see what else I can put on and get rid of.
I've decided that all of this financial organisation should hit every part of my life and I have been making lists all morning of the things I need to do, sort out and get (when I can afford to of course) so feeling much more motivated. Just need to get on and find the time to do them now
I need stupid things I sheets for the bed (I think I eat them or something) but I am going to see my Uncle on Sunday and he has loads of bedding that my Aunt bought (she died last year) and he is happy for me to have it. So that'll be nice. Plus I get to see him and he's been feeling really lonely recently, so I feel like I'm doing a good deed to.
But going to do and internet search through quidco to see where I can get the things I need cheapest.
So once again feel like I am actually getting somewhere. I may only be moving things about, but I'm paying less interest and that helps somehow!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Morning
Well I got my Alliance and Leicester cheque book through the post yesterday so I am all ready to pay off my OD!! I've edited my sig to include it as a stand alone debt. (as it was always changing I never counted it) This means that I've gone back over the £10,000 mark, but that will go under again once I've been paid.
It's sad that that's happened, but I'm really pleased that I'm not being charged interest now. But I'll be paying just over £467 off my debt this month and I've set my Amazon payments to go into my A and L account so I can knock little bits off the OD (even though it's interest free this makes me feel better) I've looked at my budget and even doing this I should have about £100 left in my account at the end of the monthAlthough I have my car service due at the end of the month... so perhaps not this month!! I'll have about £70 in savings to go towards this and hopefully that'll be it!
By leaving this month in my account I want to build a buffer and then be able to knock nice chunks off the debt every now and then.
So feeling good about it, even though I've made myself go back over £10,000 its a good way of doing it and the Amazon money will help, even if it's just a little bit.
I lost weight again last night :T so feeling good about food. Although it's my birthday tomorrow and I still have chocolate cake at work! :EasterBun Which I am going to try and resist as long as I can... It's in the fridge so hopefully out of sight out of mind??
I need to get some food shopping to make a slimming world cake (sounds wonderful) so I am hoping for a low spend day. I've brought my lunch with me and only need to get some tuna from the canteen to finish it off.
Have fun everyone. xCurrent debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
