JoJo, sorry for your loss and that you had to end up at the vets. They never make it easy for us, do they. But she was purring for you and you made her feel safe when she needed you. Sleep tight Mitzi.

So sorry to hear your news JoJo, like others have said, she kew you were with her at the end and that was what she wanted, she let you know it was time for her to go and you did right by her.
Even though we know the time is near, it doesn't make it easy for us to face when it comes but at least she is now in a better place.
    Rest in Peace Mitzi. xx

Oh JoJo, I'm so sorry. Yes, struggling with a few tears here as well.

Hope I don't offend when I say what a beautiful last night she had with you, feeling warm, safe and loved.

She'll be jumping around with Oggs now, healthy and happy. I truely believe that.

Many hugs and warm thoughts to you

  • Oh Jojo, I am so very sorry for your loss, RIP little Mitzi

And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
    To decide anything for myself.

Are you coming then? asked God.
    Soon, replied the whiskered angel
    But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.

But don't they understand? asked God
    That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.

    Eventually they will understand,
    Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

in time you'll take comfort from being able to let your dear friend go peacefully. They always stay in our hearts though.

  • awww - JoJo - I'm streaming here too! It's the hardest thing in the world to say goodbye - even when they know they have to go. Bless you for giving her the comfort of closeness in her last hours. xxx

Ah your post has made me cry. My cat is nearly 19 and I know I will have to go through the same thing - I just hope my boy can have such a lovely ending as you gave your beloved puss. Hugs xx

Also had a little tear here.

    So sorry for your loss.
  • It really is the last loving thing we can do for them - ending their suffering and taking on the emotional pain that entails when you say goodbye is the kindest thing you can do for them.

It will get easier, but take time for yourself to grieve and look after yourself.

I am so sorry for your loss, I cried reading your post.

I too lost my beloved cat in September. It is such a hard thing we do for them at the end. Take comfort in her having you there at the end, you will have been the centre of her universe.

    Take care.
