My work is doing a Christmas collection of groceries and toiletries to give to a disadvantaged housing area so gave some outs of shower gel, hand wash and body lotion which is 2 birds with 1stone, so to speak lol :)

They're doing something similar in my work. I've taken a few things in so far and the last day is Monday so I'll see if I can find anything else over the weekend.

Got very confused when I took my last donation in though. They have also started collecting for an animal rescue centre using the same box. I put my shower gel and body lotion in and then saw the sign about the animal rescue centre. I thought they had finished the first collection and wasn't sure that cats and dogs would appreciate being showered and moisturised!

Trying to summon up enough energy to go and have a shower and hair wash, I am so exhausted. Potentially 5 or 6 UU's in the next 2/3 weeks, mostly full sizes.

Good news is that it is now 10 days since my bro was rushed to hospital, he is still in critical care, has now had 4 lots of surgery, and they are monitoring the 2nd aneurysm, in the hope that it will heal itself, if not they will operate at some stage. We understand that they will be slowly bringing him back from the induced coma soon. Long way to go yet, but he is a physically strong guy, so we are hopeful!

Big hugs to all that need them and my thanks to all of you who have been there for me, and thus for him:A

Maddiemay, sending loads of well wishes to your brother. Hopefully you will feel a bit better after your shower and please be kind to yourself and accept that you are feeling exhausted.

I am being kind towards myself today, feeling pretty shattered myself after having had no Chg or hot water for 4 days earlier this week which is no way can be compared to stress that you are going through. Sending you and your family a big hug

Moromir, good luck with your move, it's such a relief when the completion process has finally been successful.

Today I have put together a shoe box of some unloved shower gels, shampoos and conditioners together with some unused tooth brushes that will never be used after I started to use an electrical tooth brush. I have also put in there loads of samples of foundations etc that I have collected from various magazines (don't know why I kept it in the first place I don't even use foundations) together with hot chocolate & coffee sachets. Next week I will give the shoe box to a local charity around the corner from where I work since they will be doing a 4 day open door shelter. I have never done anything like this before but it feels really nice to do something like this and to know that the people who are receiving it will appreciate it more than I will do.

Have a nice weekend everone and hugs to those who need / want one. Hopefully you are not feeling too stressed now when Christmas is not too far off. This year I have told myself that we will be going with the flow and not organise a drink party like we normally do. Visitors coming round will be served whatever we have at home, not that I think that anyone will notice and to be honest I don't care if they notice or not. I am looking forward to a chilled Christmas this year.

  • **Tracey**, MaddieMay - well done for resisting the S&G - it seems to have totally sold out everywhere but I resisted logging on to buy yesterday. Still have about 24 of their things in my stash although am whittling them down nicely...

Ooh, hellooo! I think I need to join this thread!

I usually reside over on the hoarders thread so I have a feeling this one may help me a bit, lol!

I have resisted buying the s&g OOTW, however I've said I will take one of my friends 4 from last yr off her hands (she was about to eBay them)

I have tried resisting toiletries all yr as I have stacks and stacks of them, but the thing I find hardest to resist is £1 offers. Etc

If its in this thread somewhere, I apologise for asking but what do your abbreviations mean?

    uu- using up?
    WBA- will buy again?

Welcome - someone else has replied re the abbreviations but if there are any more that stump you that don't appear on thread #1, post them up here and we will help out. I will then add them to the first thread. Might take a look at the hoarders thread as that sounds like it might help me too in other areas.
We completed on our house today! Epic move ahead of us tomorrow, wish me luck! I'll be offline until the new year for the most part, but will report in as often as I can.

Good luck with the move, hope you will be happy in your new home.

TA: LE Sheer Skin Tint. I'd got to the point where I'd cut the tube open and was disheartened to see there was loads more inside. Can't bear to use this stuff anymore. It's so thick and feels like liquid foundation rather than tinted moisturiser. Am going to start using the Maybelline BB cream instead with my BnB on top.

Have put in LE Christmas order consisting of 3 x bodywash for MrM, C&P for Emma, IBST for Emma and I and Skin Repair moisturiser for me. With this I got the free gift of Eyebright and mascara and a gift pack with minis of C&P, IBST, moisturiser, hand cream and superbalm. Am going to give this mini set to Emma for her trip to Germany next year.

I'm with you on the skin tint - I find it quite gloopy and it feels very unnatural on my face. I do love the pressed foundation from LE though which is very similar to Vie One Step face Base.

The LE offer is good value this month - I am tempted to buy the new fragrance as I do really like it and have been good with resisting TSVs recently.

Enjoy both - the new house and the advent calendar...

And some UUs to complete the week:

L'Occitane almond delicious soap - love L'Occitane soaps so WBA if I ever need to buy soap again....

Lulu's time bomb take off time cleansing cream - this was ok - better than I expected (this was from a TSV when I was less discerning). I probably WNBA though as it can't be used to take off eye make up and I prefer something that does both eye and face make up. Back to LE C&P whilst I UU the Lulu day cream, night cream and eye balm...

    Have a good weekend everyone.
  • Hi All,

I have no heating :( Went off last night, no water pressure at all, don't know whether its a leak or a dodgy valve.... Have come home from work especially for engineer who said he was coming at 3pm, stilll no sign! I know he's probably mega busy at this time of year but I could've saved rushing if I'd have known it'd be later.... Hey ho Hope he can do something if he does eventually show up but got a feeling he might say the boiler is beyond help, nightmare!

I've a few UU this last couple of days:

L'Oreal Preference Conditioner - comes with colourant which I will BA

L'Occitane Mango Flower Hand Cream - freebie with Glamour? WBA

Morrisons Orchid White Shower Creme - bargain, WBA

And not IN as yet but I did somehow crack, do a massive u-turn and order the S&G set yesterday morning online..... :o Blame pressures of work and life in general!!! Thinking I could still return it though as when it arrives it'll be all sealed up? Even our small local High Street branch down the road had loads stocked up in the window at lunchtime today, whereas they sold out last year and the year before within the hour. Says a lot! Hand Food and Heel Genius are my absolute toiletry nemisis so I have no idea what I was thinking, except that there were some other things I hadn't tried and wouldn't mind trying in there......:o I am a hopeless case, thank goodness for this thread!!

Shivering hugs to all those that need them! I want to get back to work for a warm, if he's not here by 4pm I'm off! xx

Oh Emsjune78, I really feel for you. I had the same experience last Saturday. Fingers crossed that the engineer can fix it. I am sure engineer will turn up, they never turn up on the dot. In the meantime, get your wheat pack or equivalent out and wear lots of layers. I literally lived in the living room with the door shut until the boiler was fixed. Sending you a warm hug. x
