One quick IN to declare: Boots conditioning nail polish remover wipes. Bought as I couldn't find nail polish remover in amongst all the boxes.
We completed on our house today! Epic move ahead of us tomorrow, wish me luck! I'll be offline until the new year for the most part, but will report in as often as I can.
Hope the house move goes well, always such a relief when completion takes place without hitch, it is 13 months since we relocated and only a couple of boxes to sort now (apart from all my craft stuff which involves crawling into the eaves when I want anything:rotfl:)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Good luck with the house move rougeylawyer !!
Huge huge hugs to everyone who needs them.Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -

Just in time to say Happy Birthday to Rosemary. What wonderful loving honesty on this thread and such good support.
Massive hugs to all.
Good luck with the move Rogueylawyer, I'm glad you are sleeping well Indiepanda.
An actual bought off the high street IN to declare. Wilkinson's Simply Colour Hair Dye in Medium Brown. (Shade 15)
This £1.00 hair colour gave such good results last time, I had to get it again. I was all set to get something expensive with my Advantage points, but why, when this works so well?
Interestingly it was the last one in that shade on the shelf, so I'm clearly not alone in my view.

Emma has premium bonds that were bought for her by my late in-laws. She's had a few cheques for £50.00 and recently won another £25.00. I thought it was a lovely idea for them to buy them for her and who knows maybe one day there will be a big win for her.On the subject of IPADs my friend has bought one each for her two children aged 10 and 9 at a cost of £400 each and I know other people have bought them for Christmas presents too. IMO it is completely insane for children so young. There are children in my 9 year old DD's class with iphones and she keeps nattering me but what on earth, I don't have a need for one and she certainly doesn't. Why can't they have toys and be children.
I remember when Emma was that age and asked for a mobile. My reaction was "why who do you want to call?" She has however now had one since she started secondary school as it's good to know she's got home ok after school. The thing now is though that they are not just phones as they are used for gaming and as an ipod so I suppose owning an iphone is not much different to having an ipod or a DS. Emma does want an iphone now but she's not having one. She got a Blackberry last year when that was the "in" thing which we got on a two year contract after her previous phone which she had for two years died. I think children should know the value of things and learn that they can't have what everyone else has. It's no to buying unnecessary toiletries so you can still buy what you need.I'm nearing the end of my stash but need to resist the Body Shop sale after Christmas!
Welcome to Cheapsk8. Re: what Skyllo says above you would consider body moisturiser to be unnecessary for the challenge and try hard to use up what you have before buying more. Shower gels and body lotions are my thing as well. Am expecting another influx at Christmas (which I do like) and *ahem* will be perusing the boots.com sale for more.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Walked past window display today without a glimmer of interest. Yay.:j:j
I haven't seen the offer yet. Went into the Boots local to work yesterday and they were displaying the Ted Baker one. Maybe I'll have a little look online but can't see me wanting it as there are only a few of their items that I really like now. The plan was to go into town today to try and get something for MrM however in the last couple of days he has produced a wish list so I've ordered online saving me a trip out and a trip into a bigger Boots.Ooh, hellooo! I think I need to join this thread!
I usually reside over on the hoarders thread so I have a feeling this one may help me a bit, lol!
I have resisted buying the s&g OOTW, however I've said I will take one of my friends 4 from last yr off her hands (she was about to eBay them)
I have tried resisting toiletries all yr as I have stacks and stacks of them, but the thing I find hardest to resist is £1 offers. Etc
If its in this thread somewhere, I apologise for asking but what do your abbreviations mean?
uu- using up?
WBA- will buy again?
Don't k ow any more
Welcome to you. I hope you are gifting the S&G sets. The shelf life on their products doesn't seem to be very long!rogueylawyer wrote: »We completed on our house today! Congrats on your move. Hope your completion went smoothly. This is the first chance I've had to post this week as work has been manic. I've been going in early a few mornings to keep up! We had 10 completions yesterday - all of which went smoothly - and I was exhausted when I got home.
Got some good news yesterday - am having a pay review in January. So pleased as I've only been with the firm since 1 October. Wandered into Sallys yesterday lunch time intending just to browse. Ended up treating my lovely friend at work to an OPI lacquer as part of her Christmas gift and treated myself to one as well! Bought Suzi and the 7 Dusseldorfs for my friend as she commented that she liked it when I wore it and Casino Royale for me. Am wearing CR today. This is the first time I have repainted my nails all week as I've been that busy at work. Have been wearing Nein Nein OK Fine which I've been touching up nearly every day!
Have some UUs/TA to report as well:-
UU:-
L'oreal Eye Make Up Remover. Love this product. Am not going to replace though as I've placed an LE order and am getting the Eyebright as a freebie so will use this as eye make up remover.
Sephora conconut body lotion. WBA if I could. Had gorgeous fragrance and lovely consistency. Am now using up a TBS Moroccan Rose body butter that I don't really like that much.
TA: LE Sheer Skin Tint. I'd got to the point where I'd cut the tube open and was disheartened to see there was loads more inside. Can't bear to use this stuff anymore. It's so thick and feels like liquid foundation rather than tinted moisturiser. Am going to start using the Maybelline BB cream instead with my BnB on top.
Think I'll have another 2 x UU today - My very last tube of Elemis PCMC is spluttering. I have it cut open and it looks like there is only one application left. Also the tube of Elemis Pro Radiance cleanser is cut open.
Have put in LE Christmas order consisting of 3 x bodywash for MrM, C&P for Emma, IBST for Emma and I and Skin Repair moisturiser for me. With this I got the free gift of Eyebright and mascara and a gift pack with minis of C&P, IBST, moisturiser, hand cream and superbalm. Am going to give this mini set to Emma for her trip to Germany next year.
Happy belated birthday wishes to Rosemary. Hope things get better for you soon. x
Have a good day everyone. I have boring housework to do as we have friends coming round tonight.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Quick hello here from Sunny South Africa (visiting my BIL) no UU but will get more ins.
Lovely Calvin Klein set of 4 mini perfumes bought on the plane for me for Xmas. I stay away with work so much so don't always want to risk breaking a big bottle. Set was $45 but because he bought himself a watch he got the perfumes for $25 bargain really.
Will be using loads on suntan lotion out here as I am fair skinned and although its over cast I am currently pasty white from English Winter.
We have our own bathroom in their house with a double walk in shower and roll top bath. Size of a bedroom really. SIL used a bath bomb in the roll top bath and it took the enamel away completely in where is landed in the bath initially. Yuk and expensive to have repaired obviously.
Hugs to everyone who is feeling down I hope sometime off works makes everyone feel better.
My motto is we only live once so make the most of it.

Happy Birthday Rosemary.
Good luck rogueylawyer, hope it all goes smoothly.
Welcome newbies - you are in good hands here
Valm - I agree about the LE skin tint, I only had a sachet to try but it is vile, so thick and greasy. The Maybelline BB cream is a true tinted moisturiser imo, really light and easy to apply, I add a bit of foundation over it just where I need a bit of extra coverage.
I had a look at the S&G set but there was only really the scrub and the cleanser that I would have liked so it would be cheaper to get those on 3 for 2.
Just going to collect DS from his first Beavers sleepover. God bless him he looked so cute last night with his kit.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
