    Morning everyone
It's that funny time between Christmas & New Year, when you can't plan anything because everyone else is either doing something or working!

Been potting my daily £3 over the Christmas period.

Have a great day everyone, welcome to our newest members, stay safe & keep saving

    Hello everyone,

I would really love to join this challenge please! I have been doing this kind of thing since Jan. A couple of months before OH and I got engaged he bought me a 'wedding fund' sealed tin, which I nearly filled within about 5months. When I opened it there was about £300 in, which got banked in a high interest account for the wedding fund! I started again with a couple more tins and have been trying to put change in since. OH has another tin which he puts £1 and £2s in, but I might convince him to combine them all together.

I think I'll open the pots we have when we get back from the in laws on the 1st Jan, bank them and start afresh. As we are saving for the wedding which is in July 2013, I think I'll probably aim to open it on June 1st 2013 so we can use it to pay things off!

Sorry if I'm being a pain, feel free to tell me where to go if I'm causing issues!!!

Hello laura_hoggle and welcome to the thread :)
I'm sure it'll be ok for you to save here for your wedding - the main focus is saving for Christmas but people do save for other things.
Sue will be along soon with your very own number that you get to keep forever, and if you put it in your siggy sparky our counter-upper will be :)
In the meantime please read post 1 on page 1 so you know what's what, enjoy the saving and post lots :)

Haven't managed to pot anything over Xmas as had lots of unexpected spends but at least I had the money from last year's pot to help out and there's some £2 coins in my purse that are earmarked for Patrick when I get a minute :)

    Hello LC2
Great Christmas thanks, J had Christmas Day & Boxing Day off which is very rare, as we know everybody needs to go shopping in the Trafford centre on Boxing Day! ;)

7 weeks today until we fly off to Chicago & New York :T

Hope you and the family had a fantastic Christmas and you haven't spent. Too much of your DH's money, the poor man will be having kittens :rotfl:

The neighbours have been quiet the last couple of days but it's probably the lull before the storm, we shall see.

You take care Hun, love to you & the family XX

Hope you've all had a good Boxing Day :j...I'm putting another one of my 'pocket' 20p's in the pot (it's better in the pot than wasted tomorrow :A). I wonder if Sue will give me extra points for that . Or, one of those stars I keeping hearing about :D.
Off now, to use the Christmas Day leftovers (again), I'm hoping it's tastetastic :rotfl::D:rotfl:.

Hiya nu1isit?, you know I'd never thought about giving you a gold star, but after thinking bout it, I think you should have one for all the fun and laughter you bring to the thread. So, here you are :staradmin and polish it well.

After successfully potting £153 from last years challenge please can you add me to this years challenge?

My aim is going to be £200.

emmita, you don't need to re-join or be added, it's automatic for ALL members.
Well, i'm really pleased with myself because i honestly didn't think i'd manage to put anything in my pot before Christmas but i've been managing to put some change away every day, only pennies some days but at the end of each week i've emptied all the change from my purse in and ooh it's feeling really good. so sad but i take my time putting in my coins and love the clunky noise they make as they hit other coins now.

i got my kids a poundshop tin for Christmas and they are all really excited by them and have added to their pots too.

it's really filled them with possibilities and my, what plans they have when they fill their pots. it's really given them something to aim for and dream of so that's turned out to be a really lovely gift too i think.

thank you all for the inspiration x

Brilliant, grass roots!! :T It made me feel quite teary at the pleasure you now have, and what you've given your kiddies, for them it's real hope of financial sense now and for their future. Well done!! It really does help in coming to the thread regularly too, not only does it motivate you, but you motivate and inspire others. :)

Oh, how very sad, mommyof4! Poor little mite, but definite prayers and thoughts for him and you. Resting will at least help.

    Excellent saving, cutestkids!

BTW, my middle DGrandson is a definite SPCer! On a shopping trip with his parents on Christmas Eve afternoon to a local village he found a £1 in one shop and £2 in another...just on the floor! :j Well done, Joey!!!!

    WOW! Brilliant savings, Ruth!!!! :T
