I may have shot myself in the foot! My 5year old is now much better than me at spotting road kill (well she is closer to the ground :rotfl: ) and she wants to keep the money to put in HER pot!! I know it shows I've taught her well about saving but WHAT ABOUT MY POT???????? :o

Starnac - haha....that did make me laugh. At least she is interested in saving as opposed to spending your money.

    Potting a pound coin today.

you're right, your pot will suffer but think how well you've taught her :rotfl:
Lovely £2 coin for me yesterday. Haven't had any road kill for months.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Evening all and welcome to newbies - still plenty of time to save and take the pressure off Xmas.

jakes-mum - keep your chin up, those b&$7&80s are a nightmare to deal with!!

starnac - nice story, hope it rubs off.

Potted my 20 x £1 coins today and just short of that £400 now (though there must be at least £20 of uncounted part £'s).

    £397+ potted so far.

Found a 1p when going through my old purse.

Also I can't remember if I asked before but would it be okay to empty my piggy bank every month and start saving again (putting the saved cash into my savings account) ?

$8.50 change from lunch into the pot. Took a lot of convincing of my boyfriend! I was more happy about the 2x $2 coins I got to put in!

    37p potted this morning.

Have a few pound coins lurking in my purse, so depending on how frugal I can be over the weekend then some of them may make their way into the pot.

You can do that if you like. If you feel safer (and have the willpower not to spend it) then you are more than welcome to bank and save monthy. You will get a few extra pennies in interest too :) I have a savings account that is only for SPC money so that it doesn't get mixed up and i know what to declare at the end of the year :)
