Welcome whizzybee! I love the username
I've potted £2.50 today (£2 of which was from the claimed scratchcard win!) and am planning to raid my OH's change stash in the car tomorrow. How dare he hoard pennies he's not going to use when we have a pot to fill :rotfl:
Trying to get more optimistic...thinking about family and friends who might be able to help and how we can do things more cheaply. My OH even went with the possibility of a registry office, which I was shocked about, as I thought he had his heart set on the church where his Mum is and didn't think he'd budge on that. I'm also looking on ebay at dresses...could take me a while to find something as there's never much on there in my sizeSPC '21 #0750 -
Hi everyone
A nice £3 potted for me today :j:j have not been potting recently as have not been spending much cash. I suppose that is a bonus though. Happy potting everyone:)

Well done new leaf 88
It all adds up in one way or another after all
Oooh, because it's funny I thought I'd mention something weird happened earlier (that wasn't very MSE really, as it ended up in me spending money I didn't really need to spend at that moment in time).
I went to Asda and my OH told me over the phone that we needed crisps and sandwich filler. So I end the call and walk around doing the shopping. I recall that my OH asked me to buy some cat litter. When my OH arrives at Asda and I get in the car, struggling with the heavy cat litter bag, he says "why did you buy cat litter?"
I said "you told me to!" and he replied, "no, I said we needed crisps and sandwich filler, but not cat litter. We've still got about a third of a bag".
I said "I know you didn't ask me to get some on the phone, but you did ask me to this morning. You asked whether next time I was in Wilkos or a supermarket I could pick up a bag of their cheap cat litter. I thought it was a bit strange asking me to, as I'd have to carry it home on the bus and it'd be a real pain, but I thought this would be a good time as I knew you'd be around to collect me"
He didn't ask me to buy cat litter at all, even this morning apparently.
So what's the verdict...am I losing my marbles...or dreaming about cat litter...or both?SPC '21 #0750 -
Hey all you lovely peeps!!
I'm just so excited I needed to share this. Some of you may have read that I'm doing an online English Composition course via a university in America. There are 67k students signed up to it (a lot of it is peer reviewed in case you wondering how the professor could mark all that work lol).
Anyway, we've just submitted our first project, a draft of a critical review about a book. They have done two online group workshops where eight people got to take part. They were doing another one where only four people could take part, so I thought, hey why not put my name down!! Out of the hundreds of people who applied I have been picked as one of the four people to have an online workshop with the professor and we'll be reviewing each others work....eeek!!! I'm so excited and a little scared!! :j
Wish me luck tomorrow, I don't want to end up having a youtube video of me talking like a plank so I'm hoping it goes well and is really useful for my writing! One very happy Mossy!!
p.s DH says he's going to dress up as a giant rat and prance around behind me lol!!! :rotfl:Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
Wow, well done Mossy - sounds brilliant (and a bit scary!!). Good luck tomorrow.
Just popped on to say another handful of coinage added to the pot. MIL brings over a bag of spare change every two weeks which the kids have happily donated to the pot (bless em). Pot getting really heavy now, hee hee.Sealed Pot Challenge - No: 223

£213+ and desperate to get to £250 - my half-way mark and the top of my "mental hill" - all downhill from there. lol
Take care all.

Ooh, could I please be counted into this challenge? Although I have only joined the forum, I already have a sealed pot so I have a total so far of £85.50 this year, which I am very chuffed about! I have been guilty of dipping in, in the past however I feel inspired to properly seal it and do my very best to save save save!
Welcome to the threadEveryone here is very friendly so post often

BOTH, cos I do this as well... ummm not with cat litter but wif t'other stuff! I have what I call my DOH moments.
DH took a crate of CDs into work to sell and split the money 3 ways, me, him and as he is a community first responder, with them. My takings of £33 has gone into my pot, only have about 50 more to sell and left overs I think we will either try and sell at a car boot or I think, magpie???
Think we might have a go at the DVDs next.
