  • Been away for a while due to moving house, had to break into the pot though and spend £100 on a new mattress for my daughter. Although I'm a bit disappointed to have spent money I'm actually glad that I had the money to make the purchase, normally it would be a last minute borrow off family to pay for big purchases!

So have been filling my pot back up over the last 3 weeks whilst battling with boxes and am quite happy with the progress so far :) May have broken the rules a smidge but I'm back on track now.

Hi zebramolli I think Sue always says she'd rather people opened their pots to deal with emergencies than not, so you haven't really broken the rules and it's great that you had the money when you needed it!
So long as it's in your siggy for sparky to add to the grand total in November don't worry about it!
My potting is getting a bit sporadic, I think Patrick is feeling neglected - but payday today so maybe I could slip him a fiver :D

Hi sazzlebgood, I take it you were just making a comment about your savings and not wanting to join us - right? All the best in saving well.

    Please see my PM, Ruth.

Well done on having such a terrific influence on your friend, mishmogs! A darned good job she asked the question as she certainly received a very honest answer. ;)

I've filled up my pot yay. I'm undecided on what to do now though, do I count it out and bank it but keep a note of the total or should I just wait and empty all my tins at the end of November and count them altogether.

I'm with ETO, redbooties, but really it's a matter of choice. If you do bank it though, would you please pop your savings so far on your siggy? Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your little lad, oldhat, I hope he's feeling much better now, or that he soon will be.

Ah..there you are, Lost, though web really had lost you for a while. Excellent savings, by the way!

No apologies necessary at all, elizabunny, sometimes we are just too busy, that's life! :)

Commiserations on the loss of your Great-Aunt, dinglefoot, but as Ruth says, she will always be with you. :)

Good to see you 'home', sparky, so pleased you all had such a wonderful time. Money well spent obviously. I hope the Birthday went well for your friend.

Very well done, LeaLea! All the best with people wanting to buy.

Rosy's quite right, zebramolli, I'd far sooner you use the money when it's needed than stick to the general rules. At least you had it to fall back on AND had saved it in the first place! :T
The only thing I'd ask is for you to please pop the £100 on your siggy so it's included in your Total by sparky in November??
All the best in carrying on saving.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Not potted few a few days due to being frugal, but took some clothes back today and the cashier had no spare notes and I received a few £2 coins, quite a few.

    So into the pot went: 6 x £2, 3 x 50p and 6 x 20p coins = £14.70 potted (whoohoo).

1/4 of the "potting season" today and ....................

£154+ potted so far ad well ahead of shedule.
