    Evening everyone
10p road change walking the dog. Also a £2 coin & 50p in the New York 2014 spending pot (it's actually a smaller sealed pot attached to the main sealed pot but I like to see how much we can save in that particular coinage) extra change going in today from shopping trip and I'm about to raid DW's purse as she's gone to get changed out of her work clothes. Shh don't tell her

Have a great evening everyone stay safe and keep saving

Thanks Sue, we're not actually in our house yet... It turns out things take much longer when you're only doing evenings and weekends!

Sorry Janey, I'd totally forgotten that. :o Lets hope it won't be too long before you're both nicely settled in. Sorry to hear about the cold, though one of many sad to say. :(
I sooooo nearly had to cut my tin open yesterday . DD's front tooth unexpectedly fell out and I needed £1. Of course now I have a sealed tin as soon as I have ANY change £1's included, I dump them in the tin. Which is great but not when you urgently need some change.

To StressedSteph and anyone else concerned about putting money into their pot...then needing it later in the week/month: Why not use one unsealed pot as a 'holding' pot and pop the money in their first each day/week/month. Then, if it's not desperately needed (for car parking costs, little Johnnies school trip etc) - put it in the Sealed ;) one so it stays put. Do that each week and your SP will be safe, but you'll have cash IF necessary. Discipline yourself to only take what's needed!

well got the money i was owed off my sister today so put it in the pot £100 wont be needing it any time soon. this pot is either for a car or a trip to pittburgh, PA.

Are you sure she doesn't owe me any, mcjordi?!! :rotfl: Excellent saving for whichever you choose to go with.

A lovely pig, nikki. BTW, were you asking me to update your Target?

    A super win, sparky!

Go steady tonight, everyone, but have a lovely time seeing out a fantastic year...and seeing a wonderful one in.

A VERY safe and healthy New Year to all our SPC family.

  • Hi Sue,

New to this, and will be my first challenge. After watching DW saving on everything, and wanting to do my part too, I have been scolded and had my poor tired debit card taken away :). After discussions, we have agreed that I know am given an allowance each month, put into a basic account, with only a ATM (not debit) card only

I will put any change, roadkill, cash DD leaves in jeans :naughty:...joking, into my cottage pot, and see how it goes.

I look forward to your reply, and best wishes to all here,

    LUF

Of course you can join, LeedsUnitedFan (ugh oh! A right one ere ) A very warm welcome to you. biggrin.gif Have fun saving. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 5 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge.

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

Well, LUF, you sound as though you might just've read the 1st post on the 1st page, but if not then it's imperative you do.

It'll be interesting to have another fella on board, though please be careful not to pay too much attention to sparky, he's my right-hand fellar on here, but a right pain to his DW, bless her! mcjordi is another guy, less trouble than sparks...so far.

Be sure to be guided by your DW, if she's cash-conscious then you can be too; you'll be surprised how on SPC and all around MSE just how quick you learn to budget and save and spend cautiously.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, we're all a very friendly lot and all willing to help.

To pop your SPC No on your siggy, go to "Quick Links" on the top green bar; click on it, then click on the drop-down list and click "Edit Signature" and there you are.

All the best, LUF, and don't forget, count up day is 28th November!

    Sue

A VERY safe and healthy New Year to all our SPC family.
