Why on earth was 8 am mentioned at all if the tickets were given out from whenever the store decided? I was there at 7.15 and they all had gone. Its the GMTV method of allocation I think. What a shambles. Course they've all gone to staff - theres no clarity whatsoever here. Sainsburys should be ashamed.

Yay! Got one- I arrived at my local store at 6:40 or so, and was 5th in the queue- first 2 people had got there at 5... But the 30th person didnt turn up til about 7:15 so could have had an extra 45 mins in bed! They gave out tickets at 7:45 to the first 30 people in the queue, which seemed fair. No going away and coming back.

Glad I decided not to bother - guessed it might end up as a bit of a shambles (so many of these kinds of deals do).

No surprise to see that at least one has appeared on Ebay already - listed by 8am!! Wonder how many of these bags went to Sainsbury's staff?

Went to Alperton at 8am all gone already, kicking myself as I was driving past at 7am so i may have been able to get a ticket but I forgot all about it. Still never mind.
  • I got to my local store at 7.05 am & the tickets had all been given out - people had been camping out overnight apparently, the queue had gone as they were given the tickets early & told to come back at 8am when they could actually pay for the bag. I went to another store approx 15 mins drive away & was no.37 in the queue but they only had 30 bags available.

My sil managed to get one from a store in Surrey which got 90 bags in!

Just come back from local store. Didn't get one. 90 bags were available and the two in the fron of the queue had been there since 12.30pm:eek: . Most people arrived around 7am but by 7.30am they were all gone. Tickets were handed out and most stores had 90 bags - not 30 as stated. Stanway had 240 - reportedly but queues were horrendous, said staff.

Staff said Godalming had loads available as no-one had bothered to queue there.

Yay I got one. and I am keeping it! I love it. Have to say it was all fair and organised where I was. We queued from 5.30am but others had been there since 5am. There were staff in the queue but they'd taken the day off and were not in uniform (They queued from 5). We were given tickets at 7am and had to wait in the queue (allowed to nip of to toilet). Bags weren't sold till 8am. There were some pshyco women turning it. It was worth getting up early for all the excitement. There was cheering when the first was sold!

I got one, had been waiting since 5.30. Its not a shambles! Me and my friend were the first there, and every person who turned up got given a ticket, then a 8 we could buy it, it is the only fair way. Some people were turning up at 7.55 expecting to get one. If they started giving the tickets out at 8 then the people that had been there for hours would lose out. This store wouldn't let staff buy one, even if they werent working. I believe this was very fair. Im so chuffed with my bag....looks a lot better in the flesh!
    :rudolf: I love xmas!

My store was the same. I got there just before 8am to be told that all the tickets were handed out at 7am :(
