I already aim to save £10k by April 2014. I would like to sign up for £8k to push myself to get to the target earlier. This will keep me focused and onto that target.

I would like to have another go at this in 2013. I set myself an unrealistic target last year and without DH fully on board found I didn't have the motivation to continue.

Today we received notification of a PPI payout and it has fired us up to clear our secured loan by the end of the year. In fact it was DH who suggested it!

DH will be starting his new job in the new year with a pay increase and DS nursery fees will be reducing dramatically this year so I feel that this is the year we can achieve our savings goal:D

Please put the XSpenders down for £13000.

    Thank you slowlyfading.

can I ask if people have any tips they have for me on how to reach my goal?

We have a standorder set up for £233 to go to the savigs every monday and even when moneys tight we never cancel this so thats, £12,116 right off, then i have £100 a month spare from child benefit that goes straight in so another £1,200 thats our wothout fail money so we will always have £13,316.

Our income is quite low but we spend very little and thats my target to get as much from my money as i can.I got a part time job so have another £1kish this year aswell.

We are trying to up our income aswell, i can really only do surveys ect because i'm running about after the kids but hubbys been doing a few programming jobs on the side, but i'm not incuding that in this.

Go on then, stick me down for another 12K but I might have adjust that during the year..................i have to spend instead of save :0(
  • If you are spending it in a chunk just include it in your total. Like I'm saving £20k but in April £4500 will be invested into business and won't be held in cash
