Well done Billie-jo, a quarter more than you were plannning!
I think it's all those £20, £40, £50 frittering spends over the year that blow a hole in savings, not the big purchases that at least give you something to show for the money. Likewise all the little 20,40, 50 quid savings add up over 12 months to a tidy sum!Save £12k in 2022 thread #7:

Yes I kind of bored myself when I re read my post haha! I also do the sealed pot challenge and the £2 savers club challenge so I am regularly putting small change away. Also I get some maintenance from the CSA occasionally so I am always adjusting my spreadsheet, keeps me going. My big savings go to this challenge though and I look forward to updating at the end of the monthMortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Yeah I think I need to find small ways to keep motivated like the £2 Savers club etc, or finding ways to cut my food budget etc.....though with the recent "burger" scandal at Tescos, swapping to the cheaper brands is not looking very attractive at the moment.... :eek:0 -

I've never bought their burgers or anyone else's for that matter, why don't you make your own? To make it a bit cheaper add finely diced vegetables or lentils rather just a slab of mince£2.20ish for the larger pack of value mince, only need half of that pack to make 6 burgers so not too expensive. You might find some whoopsie lamb mince, that would be lovely

Yeah I'm starting to make more and more stuff from scratch nowadays, the only thing it costs is time, so as long as I've got time I try and make as much stuff as I can at the weekends so I have a freezer full of food for the week, thanks for the burger tips nat21luv sounds lovely!0

I make a lot of stuff from scratch now too. I know what goes into the food I make and I don't think it is any more expensive than buying ready made stuff. I buy value veg and medium range meat. I freeze where I can. We eat a lot of vegi meals too. Neither DD nor I have any dietary needs at the moment (I am due to have another op in the next few months which will completely stop me being allowed spicy food
) and because I have never allowed DD to be fussy, we eat what I make. We waste very little and I menu plan so that I am not buying stuff we don't really need.

Been very quiet on the savings font for me. Not managed to get any work, I'm apparently 'overqualified' to temp! Grr!
Still only £40 but I'm thinking it's better than nothing.
Walking to town as much as possible to save money, cooking from scratch and avoiding shops like the plague!
Well done to everyone on here, its so great to hear what you're up to and lots of awesome saving going on.Married in 2016. Bought our first home in 2017. Expecting our first baby in November 2017
