Week one you put £1 into a pot, week 2 £2 week 3 £3 and so forth come week £52 you put £52 in and should have £1,378
So far I have £3, week 2 starts on mondayAspiring to be financially independent.... from my parents!0 -
Hi
Started this year trying to be organised but messed it up by changing my mse password and then forgetting it and changing my email address to one that doesn't exist...so, I've had to register again!
Slowly fading - I was penry, number 170 of the challenge. If not too much bother, could you change to my new user name?
Got £1.61 quidco, whoop whoop, so have put a whole £2 into savings.
Good news is that my fixed rate mortgage ends in March, and if we go onto the BMR rate, payments will go down £145 per month which I will stick straight into savings. Plus no council tax in February and March and Christmas credit card bill not too horrendous, so feeling very positive at the moment.0 -
Well this is my very first post for this challenge. I have saved my first £220 so well on the way. I have my standing orders set up and am so excited that I have actually made a start.
Good luck to all you savers here's to a successful 2013

Opened a new savings account, £100 added. Council tax mucked up, so instead of paying this month and Feb, I need to pay £280 this month

Great idea Starbrite! May have to do that in another pot and see what happens as I already have a sealed pot to put in £1 a day, a general savings/paying off cc pot from when my OH gives me weekly money for bills, and a loose change pot so I don't spend any other money and in case I need anything I can delve into that instead of something else.
I have put £140 in towards my savings/paying off so far. Not much but it's a start.
Just went to get my piggy money box as that was the only one not being used and it already had £20 in it! Result! So put another £5 in there.Thinking if I'm 5 weeks ( to cater for me checking savings first weeks of December) then I should already have £15 but will keep the extra £10 in there.

This sounds like a good idea, but I know by November/December time I probably won't have £50ish a week to spare! I'd probably be best starting it back to front! :rotfl:'Save 12k in 2013' #69

I've been doing the yearly finances today and for January it looks like I can put away £500! That's with 9 significant birthdays this month! Very pleased with that but I hope it will be more as I'm aiming to spend only £100 max this month on groceries for 3 people and a cat
so far I've only spent £31 and meal planned up to 13th. Should come well under budget....touch wood
