+£190.54 ... for April.
Terrible effort, but am very pleased considering my outgoings was over £2500.
May should be interesting too as I have girlfriends birthday early June and car insurance coming up, although I managed to get my car insurance down to £250.0 -
Hello everyone,
Had a very slow month, I'm declaring £290.62 for April, not as much as I was hoping but hey ho...onwards and upwards. My total for the year is £1,682.98 so not too shabby! I finishing paying off a loan from family this month so I am offically debt free!
Ok I have a mortgage but I like to think of that as an investment ;-) and it would be far too depressing to put that on my signature!0 -
I am just shy of £4,000. Reviewed my target and im going for £15,000 instead of £20,000. This is much more realistic as spent £2k on house so far with another £2kish to follow!!
£9,000 of this £15,000 will be invested.:eek:Living frugally at 24

So I'm here declaring a poorer month (for me) £414.73, but I'm not sure if I accidently declared 197.90 of that last month... I'm slowly getting into a mess with finance, but its only because I really need to get another vantage account open so i can keep my savings separate from my current account
(and to let you know why it was low for me, I had both my mum and bfs birthday to pay for... ended up being a rather few drastic hits!)Save £12k in 2014 Member 81 £1930.23/£50000 -
... I have just checked the spreadsheet and seem to have already declared over 3000 for April... I think that was meant for March Slowlyfading, I think i was having similar money tracking problems last month so declared half way through april!Save £12k in 2014 Member 81 £1930.23/£50000

Payday woo
As I said before, my current account is also my savings account, so it's difficult to pinpoint exactly what I've saved.
I'm on holiday later today so will probably spend a bit more than usual this month. I'll declare £600 for April taking me £2,050
Will adjust if I don't spend much on holiday!
Only spent £40 on holiday so I'm going to change this to £650 for April, taking me to £2,100What will your verse be?

I have been overpaying on our mortgage but I'm going to switch to saving instead.
This is probably a stupid question but is it better to open two ISAs or just use one savings account?
If you are talking cash (not stocks and shares too), why would you want it in two accounts? I'd just it in the one with the best interest as it makes it easier when you transfer it next year.Save £12k in 2022 thread #7:

Declaring 300 for April. Aiming for 300 for the next few months, this will let be pay off the holiday with any extra income or overtime.
Looking to have £10,000 by the time i am 22, which is 2 years next week.
Keep going, it's nearly half way through the year.House deposit £2800/£10000

I'm declaring £1254 for April. This is my last month of big savings, as a large work project has now ended and I'll have much less self-employed income in months to come. Also my peak spending period is across the summer. In May & June I'll be funding season ticket renewals, a holiday with my daughter, and repairs & improvements to my house and garage. I'd seen all this coming, so I've been saving as much as I can to date, knowing that I'll be putting away much less in the summer.
Anagran I don't think there's any easy answer to your question. In your position I'd be talking about it to my partner. I'd explain that I didn't feel comfortable in having a large debt that I wasn't addressing. (It sounds like you've done the right thing though in opening a savings account rather than making repayments.) I'd say to my partner that I'd like to build up some money in that specific account so that I am getting into the habit of addressing my debts, rather than just leaving them to build up, and so I'll have the money there when the repayments do come due. I'd make the point about not wanting to be saving for debts when partner is 'saving for us' and ask my partner what sort of sum they think is reasonable for me to be putting aside. Otherwise, if I didn't say all this to my partner, I'd be concerned that they might find my savings book/statement in future and be annoyed that I had a 'secret' savings account that I'd not shared with them.0 -
