Congrats on the saving everyone :T

March was a bit expensive but we still ended up saving £945.01 which I'm happy about overall.

I make it that we're 31.34% into our goal with 25% of the time elapsed, so we're ahead of schedule at the moment.

Pleased to report another £152 saved at the end of the month so managed to save a total of £258 in March - sheet updated

I can't believe that I'm getting into this saving malarkey....need to save £167.75 per month to reach my target. Not sure how achievable it will be but love the fact that I'm trying - feeling very virtuous :A

Thanks again for the thread :T

Hi folks and well done super savers!

Had a bumper March due to a works bonus so declaring £4,202.
    Did the update form :)

Did the sensible thing and banked the unexpected cash! I am now a decent way ahead so low targets for the next 2 months so we can get a holiday booked and paid for. Then i will review the £12k and whether to go for more!

This challenge is very motivating! :T

    Happy Easter everybody!

    March update from me:

After I thought I wouldn't be able to save very much this month as I had booked a holiday (and went on it!), my parents very kindly gave me £500 as a gift. So that gave a kick start to my month and then I ended up having the best month so far! I saved £956.45 by:

    Salary £30.57
    Second job £285
    Halifax reward £5
    First Direct welcome £125
    Ebay £5.51
Interest 34p (second month of ever getting interest - I always used to pay the banks (much more than that, sadly!))
    Cashback £5.03
    Mum and Dad £500

I'm always very interested to see how people save their sums each month - please do share!

I've had to carry over a few expenses on my holiday to this month so I think April will be a tough month but I will try my hardest :) As you will see from the above sums, every little helps.

    Spreadsheet updated
  • That's a great idea nice dream!
I saved mine this month by:
    Pension - 120
    Shares - 80
    eBay - 3.20
    2nd job - 195.10
    Started again 25th December 2017
    Current tracking - £7,955.84/ £18,282.25 to pay off. (31.12.19)

    Nice!

    So far mine is just:

    £700 of my wages saved.

I actually have most of my wages still in my account but some of that will be used throughout the month.
    What will your verse be?

    My end of month update:

I have no idea how I'm managed it considering the car has had new breaks and £100 given to mother for her birthday but I've statshed away £956 this month :D:D At 13.85% of my target.

Next month Im paying myself and putting away £1000 from my income then going to make any extra I may need. I love this frugal way of living, it's great fun.

  • My god, some of you are doing great, despite what seems like a set back from more or less every poster! Its great how we are getting angry when things pop up out of the blue so we cant save as much as we would like, definitly a saver frame of mind.

My total for March is now £426.60 I am so pleased with my total so far. I will update the spreadsheet next.

I am not sure how well I will do in April as I am hoping to book a little holiday but will do my best to keep on track.
