  • I'm really short for the rest of January - so I may as well declare my savings total now... Would have been £40 more but I've been lured away for a weekend in October and that's my deposit. Gotta have some fun!

    #101. £760.34/£9,000.

8.446%! Well, looks like I'm on track.

I've done the form - thank you, Slowly Fading, for all your hard work. This challenge has really motivated me.
  • Another £71.83 in my pot today - from the sale of an old iPad.

I got paid early!! :j:j I do the salaries so I get to choose exactly what date we get paid on (supposed to be 28th of the month but I usually do it a couple of days early). I am currently trying to figure out the business internet banking (so blimmin' compliated! Why can't it just be like my personal internet banking?? So simple!) and so I "had" to do the salaries early in case we needed to get paid by cheque.

So I am declaring my total for January today. £335, £1.66 over my target for Jan!!! Means I am ahead of myself, woooo :D

    Off to update :)
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000

Didn't expect to be able to afford any saving this month, however due to overestimating my costs, I've managed to end up (all stuff I need to pay for done 'til next payday) with £125 surplus, possibly even another unallocated £40, but keeping that just in case there are any emergencies before Monday. I am well pleased with this and am off to do my first update of the spreadsheet! :j
  • Had an unexpected bill for school, so out about £650... Not sure if I will be able to save much at all at the end of this month. :(

Right, payday! £50 went into my SIP and £50 into my sharesave. That's probably it for me for January really.

Unfortunately, I have a bit of a CC bill AND the last 18 months of a personal loan to pay off quickly which will probably take the majority of my next 4 pay packets to get shot of :( I may be able to ramp it up and make the full £10k in the last half of the year....maybe :)

    Oh Lordy!

Can I join?? I was actually thinking last night that since Other Half and I paid off our mortgage early in October 2011 <apart from my ISA each year> I have squandered all my salary each year......

This might help me to actually save!

Full £12,000 for me please in 2012!

  • Hello, I've added another £1000 this month to my pot. Hoping to put a few more quid here and there before the end of the month...

    Keep the enthusiasm coming, everyone!
