Just be aware some people are reffering to the MCZ red boiler (wood pellet boiler operating as an oil burner replacement) they also do stoves also. Im based n. ireland so unless your based here too be pointless putting you on to someone here but let me know if you are
Ended going with the ponast kp21 burner myself - getting installed hopefully next week - £10.5k total so fingers crossed all goes as planned0 -

I have just started the ball rolling on installing a ponast with buffer tank. So hopefully it all goes smoothly
Sorry, only just saw this.

No.
Fwiw, the heating part seems to be ok now, in fact, our house is too warm sometimes as we struggle getting used to living with heating again, But the hot water not satisfactory at all.
Fwiw, the last plumber sent said that the system simply cannot be expected to provide hot water and heating at the same time and that we could not treat it 'like gas'. I keep reading in the hope that ordinary houses are warm and have occupants having long hot baths.....
Please someone not in an Eco house tell me you can have decent baths and heating:D0 -
Makes me wonder if the boiler installed is sufficienty to meet the needs of your house. You should def be able to get hot water and heating at the same time.
What output is your boiler?
Was heatloss calculations done etc?0 -

Yes, heat loss calculations have already been seen as ok on first look by an independant expert. It's a 28 kw boiler.0 -
That's strange. Would love to hear from others on this issue of hot water and heat. Even have an idea what at all is wrong. Or some lines of investigation0

I have a thread on this board where people have been really helpful.
I am not being very forthcoming because ATM it would be very damaging to the business and I am still hopeful it can be rectified, and I really don't want to make life harder for a small business if it is....things on the Internet stay there, you know? It's hard when I am cross because tbh nothing nicer than putting the full details of what it is but ......it won't help them and probably will not help me.0 -
Thank you for the info. Can you tell me how noisy the red boiler is, I'm thinking of getting one put in my kitchen and sticking it in a cupboard. What is the noise level compared to a washing machine / dishwasher please
The boiler doesnt seem noisy at all, mind you it is in the garage! When it becomes active there is a small beep to inform youi the boilers been turned on. Im sure you could deactivate this in the settings somewhere! There is a roar/woosh when the flame fires too. Its nothing compared to a washing machine / dishwasher.0 -

We definetely arent in a "eco" house!! Our hot water is set to come on for one hour in the morning. I make sure the boiler has been on for at least an hour so that its up to temperature and isnt going to waste pellets. With this one hour of hot water there is enough to have two showers and a bath in the evening, with water plenty hot enough for the washing up. There is till hot water for washing the kids before school in the morning.
It took a while to setup right, with a bit of experimenting, but ive got it fine tuned now! If we have overnight visitors i can just advance the hot water for an extra hour no problem, though i grumble a bit!!
We have a 24kw boiler and a 250 litre water tank setup as a pressurised system.0
