    What is a newbie?

Someone whose posts, postcount and registration date look very like yours.

So what's your issue with P&D machines?
  • Hi, I am looking for some advice please, I received a letter from this so called parking eye company the other day saying that I have to pay £85 as I had parked in a car park and had over stayed the 2 hours stay. It was at 8pm on a Saturday nite and the car park was empty,, so wasn't busy at all!! We left at 23.17!! Plus the side of the car park where we parked was near the shop that had closed down!! After going back to check the sign it does state that u can park there between 7am - 10pm for a max 2 hours, The letter states that they have become legal' enforceable since 1st October 2012? I just worried do I have to pay and if I don't will they be able to take me to court?

    The letter is lying.

These tickets are no more enforceable now than they were prior to Oct 2012.

Technically you owe the landowner the normal parking charge for the overstay. How much is it to park there? If free, then you owe them £0.00, if 50p an hour then you owe them 50p x X hours, and so on).

You owe Parking Eye nothing at all.

They COULD take you to court - to be fair anyone can take anyone else to court if they have money to burn. However they'd lose. Badly.

And what's more they know it, so you have more chance of winning the lottery than them suddenly deciding to throw money away on some pointless court claim.

    Ignore them.
    Je Suis Cecil.

They haven't become legally enforceable at all, parking eye will say any lie to get your money! And by the way you don't owe them anything at all because you haven't broken the terms for parking there. As it doesn't mention what happens after 10pm you owe them nothing. Their signs like their company are defective. Ignore the shysters !

  • Hi sorry i am new to all this but need some advise as it's really worrying me. I also received a parking ticket on Friday from 'parking eye' also saying they were now enforceable from October 2012. My worry is that there are many yellow signs stating you have an hour and half there. Because they have so many signs does this mean they may have a better chance or more likely to take me to court because they have a lot of clear signs saying max stay 1hr 30mins? I have been parking at this Aldi store for years and this is something new and for some reason I just did not notice the signs. This is a free parking area and there was plenty of spaces. I'm just worried about the chances they have of winning in court and if they put CCJ's against my name etc.. How often is it that they take people to court and do you think they are likely to take me to court from the circumstances above? People who have not read these forums are paying them in a panic and are saying I should pay them? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. :)

Read it again. They won't have said anything of the sort.

Pretty much zero chance of them going to court, chances of them winning are even less. Not even worth thinking about.

Just ignore them (and all the panickers giving poor advice).
  • Yeah sorry I didn't have letter to hand they make it sound enforceable by saying about all these changes from October. I just wasnt sure whether because of these changes I should be ignoring them. So you wouldn't even suggest paying them if they start passing them on to debt collectors etc? Yeah so many people seem to ignore them i just know my luck they will do me :p.. I think ignore sounds best idea though.

Debt collectors have no powers to enforce these fake debts, they just write letters and are scum of the earth lying shysters. They will sell their mother down the river for money. Don't confuse these people with bailiffs, they are two different animals.
