Parking Charge Notice Parking Eye

Hi, I'm hoping somebody can give me some advice... I received a parking charge notice for overstaying for being parked in the supermarket carpark for 2hrs when you're only allowed to stay for 1.30hrs. I stupidly emailed parking eye with an appeal. I've just come across this forum tonight and can't believe I was stupid enough to email them rather than just not acknowledging them and sending the letter that was mentioned in the other parking eye thread.
Anyway I've rambled on but my question now is if they refuse my appeal which I'm assuming they probably will because that's how they operate? (i sent till receipt) will I still be able to ignore them or will they have 'grounds' to pursue me for the fine as by appealing I've admitted I was the registered keeper?
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

ummm its not a fine, parking eye are a private company who does not have the authority to issue fines and penalties, though that is what their illegal charges are. Its likely your appeal to their bogus appeal panel or whatever they call themselves will be turned down, if this fake ticket was issued in England/Wales on or after 01/10/12 they must give you a code to go to popla this is allegedly an independent appeal place where you can take your argument too.
There you can put across your side of the story, if it goes for you end of matter, if it goes for the parking company you can simply ignore it as its not binding on you, but it will cost the parking company £32.40 to go there regardless of the outcome.
Or you can ignore
Its your choiceExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
They can only go for you to recover losses, and by they that means the landowner.
to calculate what you owe, work out the cost for parking so if it costs £0.70p for 1/2 hour and you overstayed for 30 minutes then you owe them 70p, if you overstayed for 1 hour then you owe £1.40
you can use a simalar formula for free car parks, where the cost of parking = £0.00 per 30 minutes so an overstay of 1 hour would cost £0.00 and half an hour would costs £0.00.From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
no need to worry, you can safely ignore all threats to take you to court. If you wanted, though, you could let the chief executive of the supermarket company know. I guarantee [almost!] that your ticket will be cancelled. Was it by chance Morrison's?0

hi thanks for the advice no it was a free carpark at home & bargain and aldi. I wasn't even aware that there was any kind of maximum stay there to be honest, was horrified when I received the letter.
So I'm ok to ignore it then as they don't really have any grounds to pursue it without aldi being the ones looking for costs?0 -
And the "costs" would be zero. They can only ask for the actual loss that's been suffered by them. As it was a free car-park that amounts to nothing. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

ok thats good then i will just ignore them thanks0

Good man: I've ignored them twice this year and paid nothing.
Parking eye = och aye =jap eye= f all.
I wouldn't mind if they sent me a bill for say the amount owed (in my case about £1) and a reasonable admin charge (say £5 tops) but both times it was £40 if you pay now and £80 if you don't, what sh*t.Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.

It's a shame not to use the POPLA code as you have appealed through the pointless stage one already. What's not to like about making them pay £27 plus VAT, waste their time jumping through the hoops for POPLA and with you knowing all along that you are NEVER going to pay them?!
Then if POPLA do not cancel then you can revert to ignore mode as the decision has no legal bearing on you, only on the PPC. Shame not to proceed with the second stage - and we have seen LOADS of PPCs (including Parking Eye I am sure) give up in the last month, cancelling fake PCNs immediately when specifically asked for the POPLA Verification Code. So ask for it when they reject.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I got one of their letters today. My car was parked on a free parking which they manage, and according to them parking time was exceeded by 30 minutes. I am the registered keeper but I was not the driver. They say that since the 1st of October this makes no difference, they can claim the money from me. Can I still ignore their letters? I had one of these cases a few years ago and I ignored it, but now with the new rules I am not sure what to do. The fine is for £100 by the way...

Read above.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
